Rush: History Shows Amnesty Won't Win Hispanic Votes for Republicans

    BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Republicans are in a panic here deciding to now work with Democrats on bringing more Democrats into the country, more low-income Democrats. Illegal immigration means more low-income Democrats. It is this outreach business.

I want to give you some numbers that I mentioned late last week. In 1984, Ronald Reagan was elected president with 37%... By the way, I don't care how far back you go, no Republican has ever received more than 40% of the Hispanic vote. No matter what they've done, no matter what they've said, no matter what their policies were, no Republican has ever received more than 40% of the Hispanic vote. It's systemic. It votes Democrat.

They vote not based on immigration at all, and here's the proof. In 1984, Ronaldus Magnus wins in a landslide, and in '84 Ronaldus Magnus got 37% of the Hispanic vote. Two years later, Reagan signed into law amnesty for three million illegals, called Simpson-Mazzoli. Now, according to the wizards in the Republican consultancy class, that should have meant droves of Hispanics voting for the next Republican in 1988.

Reagan got 37% and passed amnesty. We showed the Hispanics we love 'em, we cherish 'em, we care about 'em. We granted them amnesty. We gave citizenship to three-point-some-odd million of them in 1986. The next presidential election is George H. W. Bush in 1988. The percentage of the Hispanic vote that he got two years after amnesty was 30%. So '84, Reagan: 37% Hispanic vote.

Two years later, amnesty (which was supposed to really make us loved and adored and really supported at the polls). Two more years, 1988, George H. W. Bush loses 7% of the Hispanic vote from Reagan's '84 totalitarians. So after amnesty... Now, you might not be able to claim that amnesty loss, but it certainly didn't get us any more votes. We lost votes. Now, how do the Wizards of Smart on the Republican side explain this? I want to hear the explanation for this.

Again, very quickly (I know numbers are tough to follow on radio): in '84, Reagan, 37% Hispanic vote in a landslide. Two years later, he grants amnesty to three million illegals. And in two more years, George H. W. Bush only gets 30% of the Hispanic vote. Two years after amnesty, the Republicans lose 7% of the Hispanic vote they had prior election. So where is this empirical evidence that reaching out and granting amnesty or pathway to citizenship or whatever works?

There isn't any evidence that it accomplishes what the Republicans are dreaming that it will accomplish.

RUSH: So if amnesty does not get us more votes, folks, what is it that we are dealing with here? It's this... (playing of Baracka Claus is Coming to Town) That's "white comedian "Paul Shanklin with the vocal portrayal there of Barack Obama, Baracka Claus is Coming to Town. We're working on other Baraka Claus Christmas parodies for the upcoming Christmas season.

Meanwhile, folks, while all this Benghazi sex stuff -- The Real Housewives of West Point -- is going on out there, President Obama has a meeting today. He has official meetings today. You know with who? A bunch of leftist, radical groups. Today, Barack Obama is meeting with "labor leaders and progressive activists to discuss the fiscal cliff strategy."

He's meeting with labor union leaders and leftist activists to discuss what to do about the coming fiscal cliff. And, of course, the advice he's gonna get is, "Let's go over it! Let's go over the cliff!" Because they think the only people that are gonna get hurt going over the cliff are the rich, who deserve to get hurt because they have so stolen everything from everybody since the country was founded.

    BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: If you think that I'm wrong on this immigration business and Republican outreach, I want to give you California. California is the future of the country. Do you realize between 1952 and 1988, 1988's the important year, that is when massive immigration began in California. Between 1952 and 1988, Republicans won every presidential race except 1964. Democrats have won the last five elections. What's the difference? Between 1952 to 1988, Republicans won every presidential race. The Republicans were, to one degree or another, relevant players in the politics of California. And then the floodgates opened in 1988. And I'm sure the Republicans in California thought, "You know what, if we reach out we can get some of these people to vote for us."

It isn't gonna happen, the current makeup of things. It just isn't gonna happen. Because the Republicans aren't even willing to be honest with themselves about why the Hispanic vote, minority vote goes to the Democrats in the first place. They really want to believe it's because they don't reach out or their media people say things that hurt their feelings or what have you. As long as the Republicans are gonna be in denial about why they're losing elections, they're never gonna get to the bottom of fixing it.

No... it will NOT help the Republican Party it will do the OPPOSITE

The Republican Party is facing a ROUT of EPIC proportions if they touch this hot potato

    1. The Party Base will collapse and abandon them on election day; many will stay home causing losses at the House, Senate, State and Local Elections

    2. After booting out constitutional Republicans, 4-5 Million Hard Core Ron Paul Voters that had a following of 13 - 15 Million of going back to the Constitutional Law the Republican Party is trying to pull in the Illegal Alien Vote in their place

    3. Somehow these mentally dibilitated fools in the RNC / GOP think its ok to give legal status / job grabbing ability to the 12 Million Illegal Aliens that have up to 25 Million Anchor Babies... They forget that unemployment amoung our citizens are at Great Depression Levels. U-6 Un-employment is at 22.3 Percent .. you can believe that rubish about the 7.8 that the government floats to a dumbed down citizenry if you want to. Again.. the backlash will be massive and 2 new parties will appear.. The WIIG Party (Thats right) the defunct republican party will be just as extinct and a new 3rd Party formed of every one else that is pissed at what these 2 out of control Republicrats and Deomocons are doing

    4. If you think the Republican Party had its ass handed to it on the 2012 election wait until the Next gutting in 2014 and 2016

It will have 1 benefit ... Identifying who in the House and Senate need to be put in the unemployment line in the next several elections
