S.AMDT.2444 to H.R.2638 To provide that none of the funds made available under this Act may be expended until the Secretary of Homeland Security certifies to Congress that all new hires by the Department of Homeland Security are verified through the basic pilot program authorized under section 401 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 or may be available to enter into a contract with a person, employer, or other entity that does not participate in the such basic pilot program.

This is great...it reqires Chertoff certifies that ALL new hires at Homeland Security are LEGAL worers (hopefully that means U.S. citizens) before he can use any of the money authorized in the bill.

Graham/Pryor amendment being dicussed now that adds 3 billion dollars as emergency funding to securing the border.

Grahamnesty is up. He's asking for $3 billion dollars in emergency spending in his amendment for more border patrol and equipment. This is the amendment that Sessions has endorsed so it's probably ok.

He's actually talking about securing the border.

I find this one bizarre...something that only a Feinstein or a Kennedy would come up with. Now were going to legislate anti-sexual abuse of prisoners (at least 30% are illegal aliens) from sexually abusing each other.

He likes the amendment, but it's all focused on the southern border and he thinks we need to fix all the borders. But he will support it.
