Sad Day- Donald Trump Announces Mike Pence as VP Pick by Tweet

Very Disappointing to have it finalized by Donald Trump that he has chosen the amnesty supporting Mike Pence for his Vice President. His " touch back" amnesty efforts and recent criticism of more stringent vetting and/or bans for those entering the United States is troubling.

Mike Pence does not invite excitement. If something would happen to Donald Trump this would not be the person to follow through as Donald Trump will hopefully do on his many promises.

I like the young Stephen Miller, the staffer of Senator Sessions who helped craft his immigration speeches and policy and who now advises Donald Trump. He is a constant speaker on the campaign trail and knows illegal immigration and its dangers. He doesn't have the years but he is faithful to the fight and seems to be loyal plus he invites real excitement when he speaks.

I also like Kris Kobach and a few others. Scott Brown would be a consideration. We at Alipac know that immigration planning by Ted Kennedy and others over the past 40 plus years has been slowly destroying our nation.

Donald Trump's choice for VP is most disappointing. I do not believe this was his gut choice.

I hope we will see more of his cabinet picks. Who will hold positions at Dept. Of Homeland Security, ICE, Border Patrol, etc. Picking strong people who would oversee immigration and seeing to it that laws are enforced would help to overcome this choice as VP.

Actually building that promised wall and putting the Border Patrol at the borders instead of miles and miles inside the nation would be an amazing start.

Trump should have waited till hillary announced her vp ....it would have made his selection reasons more poignant by seeing what he is up against as a complete picture - now he is stuck with a TPP, amnesty advocate. Well, maybe we would hear @ as much from pence as we have heard from joe biden, pretty much nothing.

He apparently did not feel comfortable with scott brown - that would have been a nice ticket. The right woman would have been very good also. Sessions would have been good too but I think there are other plans for jeff. pence is called a yes man, guess that suits trump.

Trump should have waited until he picked someone who supports his policies, someone like Scott Brown.

I would bet Donald never even considered that at some point Pence might have to take over the Presidency. Unfortunate. But at least it ain't Elizabeth Warren or Corey Booker.

It is a very sad day to see Trump pick a pro amnesty open borders pro TPP GOP RINO instead of someone that reflects the policies he has promised Americans.

It is reported that as late as midnight last night Donald Trump was talking to staff and wondering if he could back out of Pence pick. He was having a "head over heart" struggle. Who knows what was really going on but he is reported to have "felt boxed" into this choice. Recent hire, Pollster Kellyanne Conway, has been with Pence for a long time and pushed him as well as Paul Manafort, Campaign Manager for Trump.

Let us now hope we will see some good names announced for cabinet posts that can make more of a difference in how government responds to security, immigration, etc.
