SCOTUS Comes Down on Side of Arizona in Illegal Alien Case!

SCOTUS Comes Down on Side of Arizona in Illegal Alien Case!
    By John W. Lillpop

In a huge victory for the rule of law, good old-fashioned common sense, and American citizens, the Supreme Court sided with Arizona in its effort to prevent and reverse illegal invasions from south of our borders.

As reported at the reference, in part:

“PHOENIX – The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld an Arizona law that penalizes businesses for hiring workers in the country illegally, buoying the hopes of supporters of state crackdowns on illegal immigration.

They predicted the ruling would lead to many other states passing laws that require employers to use the federal E-Verify system to check that workers aren't illegal immigrants. And some said the ruling bodes well for the prospects of a much broader and more controversial immigration law in Arizona, known as SB1070, to be found constitutional.â€

No power granted Feds to regulate “immigrationâ€

The big lie, which Eric Holder along with our progressive media has been promoting, that the federal government has supreme authority to deal with those who have invaded our borders, originates, according to Mr. Holder, in Article VI, clause 2 of the Constitution which declares:

[b][i]“This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.â€

‘President Obama is more interested in mocking those of us who want our border secure than protecting American citizens’

On May 26, the Supreme Court of the United States upheld the opinion of the U.S. District Court, affirmed by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, finding the plain language of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) preemption clause did not invalidate the Legal Arizona Workers Act (LAWA) because the law did no more than impose licensing conditions on businesses operating within the state.

Nor was the state law preempted with respect to E-Verify, the district court concluded, stating although Congress had made the program voluntary at the national level, it expressed no intent to prevent states from mandating participation.

    the next Supreme Court decision

It is apparent from this decision that the key vote on the AZ anti-illegal immigration law passed in 2010 will, as it usually does, from Anthony Kennedy. I have no trust in him. However, I hope he will do the right thing and vote to uphold the law.
