Thread: Can anyone explain why DACA is not Obstruction of Justice?

We have agencies trying to enforce the law and catch illegal invaders living and working here and then obama gives millions of them a card saying they will not be prosecuted for these crimes.

I don't know. One theory could be that there is no intent. However, since this is still an area of civil law I don't think we would have to show intent.

No intent??? The whole idea of DACA was to let illegals avoid capture and punishment for their crime.

What I meant was there may have been no intent on the part of minor children to break the law. While minors understand much right from wrong they may not understand the complexity of being in violation of an immigration law.

Where did anyone allude that minors were responsible for obstruction?

Our problem is that long ago, our Founders decided that representatives should run the country. Today we have 535 of them, all with different ideas of how the country should be run. If we had a dictatorship, there would be one authority saying what will be. But with our system, the President hasn't got the authority, Congress hasn't got the cooperation, and the judicial is throwing up obstacles. So there is no clear violation that all can agree on.

The guilty party is Obama, who correctly said he didn't have the authority to enact DACA, then did. But too many people want to worship our leaders as gods, so they are accountable to no one!
