Sen Ted Cruz: 'I will oppose the Arms Trade Treaty'

U.S. Senators must OPPOSE the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty! Blast Faxes -- Tell the Senate to STOP the globalists and their anti-gun scheme!

    American Conservative,

In the name of "international peace" and "global security," Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday signed the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty on behalf of Barack Obama and the United States Government.

"This is about keeping weapons out of the hands of terrorists and rogue actors," said Kerry, Wednesday. "This is about reducing the risk of international transfers of conventional arms that will be used to carry out the world’s worst crimes. This is about keeping Americans safe and keeping America strong."

Seeing that Secretary Kerry and President Obama intend to furnish the Syrian Rebels with weapons, we know their support for this Treaty is not about "keeping weapons out of the hands of terrorists." The Administration supports this Treaty because it is about disarmament, plain and simple.

With Secretary Kerry having assented to surrender our Second Amendment to globalist planners, we need to make sure that we make our voices heard loud and clear in the U.S. Senate! We need to demand Senate lawmakers to refuse to ratify the Arms Trade Treaty!

Senator Ted Cruz says, "The Second Amendment must never be subjected to an 'international norm.'" Already, Sens. Cruz, Lee and Inhofe are committed to opposing this global anti-gun scheme -- and we need to tell more Senators to join them!

Our natural and constitutional right to "keep and bear arms" shall not be infringed: not by Congress, not by the Executive Branch, and not by the United Nations! Contact Senators now: Send faxes, call lawmakers, and add your name to our "No Arms Trade Treaty" petition!

Take action and demand that United States Senators oppose the ratification of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty, else the United States be bound by supranational law not founded by the U.S. Constitution!

    Executive Gun Control

We know that Obama has long been an enemy of privately-owned guns held by free, law-abiding individuals - the type of gun ownership that the Second Amendment expressly protects - which is why he continues to do all he can to regulate them out of our hands.

Through 23 Executive Actions - some of which are starting to materialize - and urging Congress to pass "common sense" gun-control legislation, we have seen Obama ramp up his anti-gun agenda since January. In fact, he recently signed two additional anti-gun executive orders, and called for increased gun-control shortly after the Navy Yard shooting.

Knowing this, Obama's ordering John Kerry to sign the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty comes as no surprise whatsoever as it is a major component of the global organization's disarmament agenda.

The Arms Trade Treaty would mandate that all signatories create a "national control system" with a "national control list" (see Article 5) to monitor the exchange of "all conventional weapons" (see Article 2).

In other words, the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty would - if adopted - create a national gun-registry, subjecting all arms sales, trades, and purchases to government scrutiny!

    We can't let this happen.

To prevent the U.N. globalists from trampling on us and our Constitution, we need to contact all U.S. Senators right away and demand that they stand against the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty!

    Nations Lining Up

After years of preparation, the U.N. Treaty was approved by a vote of 154 to 3 on April 2, and on June 3rd the doors opened for U.N. member nations to ratify it!Eighty-eight nations have signed the treaty so far, and, sadly, our "leaders" have us in line to do the same, despite the Constitution.

However, the good news is that Secretary Kerr's signature is only symbolic without the consent of the United States Senate. This is to say that even with John Kerry's signature on the treaty, the United States is not yet be bound by its language.

The real battle is in the United States Senate - the body that does have power ratify and adopt international treaties. If the Upper Chamber of Congress accepts the Arms Trade Treaty then, and only then, will our country be bound by the globalist language that the treaty contains.

If we want to remain a sovereign and independent nation under Constitutional rule, it is absolutely imperative that the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty be rejected.

Should John Kerry's recent signing should spark Majority Leader Harry Reid to bring the treaty to a vote after the Continuing Resolution is settled, we need to urge Senators right now to prepare to vote against it!

Take action and demand that United States Senators oppose the ratification of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty, else the United States be bound by supranational law not founded by the U.S. Constitution!

    Dangerous and Unconstitutional

Just like the United Nations Small Arms Treaty, this Global Treaty is incompatible with the Second Amendment to the Constitution... despite what its advocates claim.

The Treaty would provide the United States Executive sweeping powers to regulate which guns can and cannot enter or exit our country, and is a stepping-stone to a mandatory international gun-registry.

Senator Mike Lee of Utah, one of thirty-four Senators who voted on a resolution in April opposing the Arms Trade Treaty, says that he will block the anti-gun U.N. effort "as long as [he is] breathing in the U.S. Senate."

In a statement, Sen. Lee said:

"I have great concerns that this treaty can be used to violate the second amendment rights of American citizens, and do not believe we should sign any treaty that infringes on the sovereignty of our country."

Likewise, Senator James Inhofe has committed to oppose this treaty's ratification. The Oklahoma Senator says:

"The U.N. Arms Trade Treaty that passed in the General Assembly ... would require the United States to implement gun-control legislation as required by the treaty, which could supersede the laws our elected officials have already put into place. It's time the Obama administration recognizes it is already a non-starter, and Americans will not stand for internationalists limiting and infringing upon their Constitutional rights."

In order to prevent the Arms Trade Treaty from carrying any force in the United States it must be rejected by the upper house of the United States Congress. We must make sure that we are making clear our demands and securing as many pro-gun advocates as we can to defeat this supranational attack on our Second Amendment!

Take action and tell U.S. Senators that you oppose the ratification of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty!

    Domestic Gun-Grabbers

Senate gun-grabbers are not a small minority - in fact, we have already witnessed their full-fledged assault on our right to keep and bear arms this year! We know that there are plenty of lawmakers on both sides of the aisle that seem to think that increased gun-control is "common sense" and that ignoring our God-given, constitutionally-protected liberty is acceptable.

When the "Safe Schools, Safe Communities" gun-control bill was tabled in April, we remember that Mr. Reid said that "it's only a matter of time" before he brings gun-control legislation back to the Senate floor.

The fact is: The gun-grabbers are far from retiring their agenda, and this dangerous U.N. treaty - which so many falsely claim is innocuous - would greatly aid them in their illegal and unconstitutional cause.

The Senate needs a 2/3 majority to adopt this treaty, and we need to make sure we are doing all we can to make sure that they do not have the numbers to do it.

Like the United Nations Small Arms Treaty, this Arms Trade Treaty can and must be defeated! Will you send faxes, call Senate offices, and sign the petition to stop this attack on our right to keep and bear arms?

P.S. Tell your Senators to oppose the Arms Trade Treaty - sign our petition and send your messages here.

Marginalia: Proponents of the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty claim that the international agreement would only regulate arms as they cross international borders and that the treaty has no power over arms within each nation state itself. This cannot be believed as governments always seek to expand their powers.

Just as the "commerce clause" in the Constitution - originally intended to facilitate trade across state lines - is now used to regulate what one may or may not grow in his or her own back yard, so would the U.N. A.T.T. threaten to regulate Americans' private arms.

The United States must not ratify this treaty as it would violate the Second Amendment and property rights.

Call Senate offices and tell them to OPPOSE this international gun-control agreement! Find contact information here.
