Letter From Senator Wyden (Oregon) about Illegal Immigration
Here is the Letter he Sent me after I blasted him for voting yes to the Dream Act.
Thank you for contacting me to share your concerns about immigration
reform. I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue.
I believe we need to reform U.S. immigration law and policy, and hoped to
do so this session of Congress. If Congress is ever going to solve this
problem and move beyond the failed strategies of the past, a new, broader
framework is needed. Critically, the federal government must stop turning
a blind eye to immigration law violations.
In May 2007, the Senate began debate on a bill that would have finally
committed the government to enforcing the nation's immigration laws
strictly and to securing our borders. This bill, the Comprehensive
Immigration Reform Act (CIRA), would have placed hundreds of miles of
fencing and physical barriers along the southern border; dramatically
increased the number of border patrol and interior enforcement agents; and
increased penalties for illegal entry and evading immigration officers.
The bill would have also gotten tough on employers who hire illegal
immigrants, punishing them with steep, increasing fines and barring them
from government contracts. To be sure, CIRA was not a perfect bill, and
ultimately it did not attract enough support to keep the legislative
process moving forward.
Thank you for keeping me apprised of this and other issues that are
important to you. If I can be of any further assistance to you on this or
other issues, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Ron Wyden
United States Senator
In the letter I sent him I asked him several questions. One of them was, I have Faxed you Many times and written you with no reply, Why? Do you not also represent me as a Legal United States Citizen? You have consistantly voted in favor of Amnesty instead of enforcement, WHY?
You voted against the Vitter Amendment that would have cut money to Sanctuary Cities and you voted against that, Why? I also told him that I wouldn't bet a plug nickle for his chances to be re-elected with his voting record to date.

JRB: Yes, this is not surprise.
There is a group of about 40 senators that will always vote pro-amnesty OBL. Wyden is definitely one of them.
Keep sending - it's your right. He doesn't have to vote as we want, but he does have to keep accept - and acknowledge - your input.
I hope we can replace him when he's up for re-election.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

You received the form letter. I've gotten many. They don't give a s**t what we think. They have their agendas and that doesn't include the opinions of American citizens. We're irrelavant because they know what's best for us.
You know what's funny? Your letter is almost exactly like the letters I've received. It seems the pro-amnesty Senators all have the same response. Maybe they all got together and decided how to respond so as not to piss their constituents off too much.avatar:*912 March in DC
