Grassfire.org link REMOVED.
We do NOT support Grassfire petitions at ALIPAC after they collected our signatures before on a petition to oppose Guest Worker Amnesty provisions.
Then they turned around and falsely claimed that all of those signatures were in Support of the Cornyn Kyle Senate bill which CONTAINED a Guest Worker Amnesty provision.
None of us thought our signatures would be used to support a Guest Worker bill. The petition we signed said "No Guest Worker!"
Please be advised that from this example, the Grassfire petition you sign may be used for a purpose contrary to what you signed it for, but Grassfire will have collected your e-mail contact information regardless.
They will then go rub elbows with politicians and claim you as a supporter of Grassfire and a supporter of Guest Worker amnesty containing bills like Cornyn Kyle.

Nope. Bait and Switch. Might be a good way to get paid by the OBLs. Whatever the reasons, we do not allow links to them here after that.

Geez, it's getting harder and harder to tell who the "good guys" are. But to be honest, this is EXACTLY why I did a little research on ALIPAC before I joined the debate. I've been burned too many times to just take things at face value. Thank goodness the execs at ALIPAC passed the "background check." lol

Weird - When did they do that?
The current petition states NO AMNESTY among other things.
Who is in charge over there? Would have to wonder why they would do such a thing?I'm "Dot" and I am LEGAL!

As you are probably aware i am new to this site but i was just wondering if the minutemen organization is a taboo subject around here. I have seen no links to their petition drive to support securing the borders. Also i really haven't seen mention of anyone being a member. While i completely approve of what the minutemen are doing, and i am seriously still thinking of joining, i was taken aback by their call for $50 just to "volunteer". It's not the money so much that bothers me but i just don't want to send my $50 in and find out that someone is just doing it for profit. Another example is the ability to fax members of congress, on the minuteman site it costs money to do this but the numbersUSA site does it for free. Sorry to hijack this thread in another direction but i had to ask the question. Mods feel free to delete if inappropriate.

The Minutemen have their own topic section on our site. We supported what they were trying to do back in the earliest days. ALIPAC got started just a few months before they did.

We also endorsed and contributed to Jim Gilchrist's campaign for Congress. It was about the only race of interest in 2005.

Many ALIPAC supporters are MM and many MM are ALIPAC supporters.
We have helped to build a great deal of communication and cooperation in this movement after last year's first Unite to Fight Summit I

kniggit,
The Minutemen are a good organization. They are very standup. Go to their website are read their rules and regulations and I'm sure you'll agree.
I joined them a few weeks ago. They use the $50 to defray the cost of a background check on you. They really don't want any troublemakers in the group. All that they have done has been respectful, no racism, nothing. It shows the quality of their group. Please join, there's power in numbers.<div>Thank you Governor Brewer!</div>
