Senator Predicts Trump’s Stance On Illegal Immigration Will Have Surprising Impact In November

Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama sat down with the Daily Caller recently to share how and why he believes African-Americans and Latinos will be voting for Republican Donald Trump in the presidential general election.

“Donald Trump is going to do better with Hispanics and African-Americans, I am convinced, because he’s talking about things that will really make their wages go up,” Sessions said, adding, “There is no doubt that the current immigration policy is a significant economic detriment to working Americans. And that includes particularly immigrants and minority groups because the flow of labor is so large, it floods the labor market and depresses wages.”

The Obama administration, as Western Journalism has reported, has actively sought to cease deportations of illegal immigrants. Because of this, the workforce in the U.S. is flooded with individuals who will work for reduced wages, and that hits hard-working Americans and legal immigrants where it hurts, in their pocket books.

“So if you’re a second-generation Hispanic, an African-American, or any other person in America who’s looking to get started at the first rung of the economic ladder, it’s harder to find a job and the wages are less,” Sessions told the Daily Caller, adding, “It’s harder to get promoted and get pay raises.”

Sessions said he’d be willing to serve within the Trump administration and described how he believes he could help add leadership. He also offered a few suggestions as to what should be done in a Trump administration.

First, slow down the excessive flow of labor — it floods the market. Second, you defend American manufacturing and workers against unfair foreign trade deals. And you take strong steps like regulatory reform and tax reform that will also create economic growth and help us be more competitive so we can start winning again. … We need to somehow get away from this view that ending illegal immigration is designed to hurt poor people. It’s designed to help poor people be able to get better jobs and better prospects. And trade will create better working conditions and wages for Americans.

Sessions also put forth his belief as to who suffers most when illegal immigration goes unchecked. “Immigrants and other minority groups are the ones that are suffering the most from excessive immigration and this flawed trade policy of ours,” he said.

The senator said Trump’s campaign promise, “which is to build more barriers, a strong wall, and that we’re going to end illegal immigration,” should resonate within the African-American and legal immigrant communities. “I think he’s going to end the illegality at the border, and that’s not hard to do, frankly. … It can be done faster than a lot of people think. He can get a massive reduction in illegal immigration simply by stating it as a national commitment,” Sessions concluded.

On Day One in office...cut off the Federal and State funded freebies, including taxpayer funded schools, and make it clear there is no such thing as an "Anchor Baby", the are not US Citizens and should have never been issued US Birth Certificates. End the Cuban Adjustment Act...no more wet foot / dry foot and send them back to Cuba!

All non-citizens who give birth on US soil whether here on vacation, a Visa, here illegally or otherwise should be issued a "Certificate of Child Born Abroad". No eligibility for taxpayer benefits!

I work in immigrations for a global organization. I recently had an assignee in the US on a work visa who had 2 babies born in the US. The assignee was under the impression that he and his family could stay in the US after his visa expired because he had 2 US born children..... the FACT is that those two US born children cannot sponsor their parents for citizenship until they are 21 years of age.

This should be true for those here illegally!! No double standards!! If a legal person cannot use having US born children as anchors - then those here illegally should not be able to use it either!!!

I agree with the "Certificate of Child Born Abroad" concept!!!
