Singer Joy Villa made quite the political statement at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday.

The performer, who was not nominated at the show and was one of the first guests to arrive, initially walked the red carpet outside of Los Angeles’ Staples Center in a white cape. She then did a dramatic costume change, whipping off the draped fabric to reveal a form-fitting red-white-and-blue dress emblazoned with President Donald Trump’s signature slogan.

Villa’s look read “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” down the bodice and featured red stripes and white stars. The back of the dress was bedazzled with large sparkling letters reading “TRUMP.”

Viewers immediately took notice of Villa’s questionable fashion choice, weighing in on the dress via social media.

Villa’s Wikipedia page was also quickly edited following her appearance, as her name was changed to read, “Joy Angela Villa Trump.”

Designer Of The Dress Is An Immigrant

On Sunday night Joy Villa stunned the world when she showed up to the Grammy’s wearing a Make America Great Again dress.

The Gateway Pundit was contacted by Andre Soriano, the man who designed the dress, for an exclusive interview.

Andre Soriano immigrated from the Philippines to the United States when he was only 16 years old to pursue a better life and to pursue his dreams of working in the fashion industry. Andre now owns his own highly successful business named Andre Soriano based out of California.

Andre got his inspiration for the dress from the Women’s March in Washington D.C. when he heard what was his favorite singer, Madonna, talk about how she wanted to “blow up the White House.” Andre was furious by her statements and called Joy Villa and told her they were going to scrap their initial designs for the dress she was going to wear and were going to design a dress to “unite the country,” as Andre said.

The dress that Joy Villa wore was made from a Trump Flag. As a huge Trump supporter, Joy was naturally very excited about the dress.

Andre said “We only have one President and that is President Trump. It’s NOT Hillary.”

He went on to say in reference to making the Pro-Trump dress that “Just like Rosa Parks, we are going to stand up for our rights as Americans,” noting that “the dress was designed in love, it is all about love.”

Andre voted for President Trump because “I love America and I believe in America.” Even as an immigrant Andre made it very clear several times throughout our conversation that he is a huge supporter of building the wall. He says that people can come here to build a better life but they have to do it legally. Andre is also a huge supporter of the United States Constitution and believes that people that come here need to support it and not try to change it.

Within a matter of hours of wearing the now infamous Make America Great Again dress, Joy Villa’s album I Make the Static has skyrocketed in the sales ranking on Amazon. Previously the album was ranked #543,202 on Amazon and now it is currently ranked #3.

The top 3 albums under the ‘Movers & Shakers’ categories all belong to Joy Villa.

Her album I Make the Static is currently a better seller than both Lady Gaga and Beyonce.

Dan Gainor, vice president of Business and Culture at the Media Research Center, spoke to Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Monday about Joy Villa’s “Make America Great Again” gown, which she wore at the Grammys Sunday night. “This is not just career courage,” Gainor said.

Villa has already received threats on Twitter, as Gainor pointed out.

“The level of crazy has gone through the roof” on the Left, said Gainor. Asked if he thought the Left has been “normalizing violence,” Gainor responded, “I think the Left has been doing that for years.”

While acknowledging that “it will hurt her career forever,” Gainor added, when it comes to what Villa did, “it’s actual physical courage. The Left has moved into a dangerous place where they target and threaten people they don’t like.”

Gainor added, ‘”Obviously, all conservatives everywhere are pleased by Joy Villa with her dress, the ‘Make America Great Again’ gown.”

“I like it,” he said.

“This is what it takes to be counter-culture. Andrew [Breitbart] was always talking about being counter-culture and how conservatives need to be counter-culture. … The idea that someone would go on the red carpet right into the deepest, darkest part of Hollywood at the Grammys and reveal pro-Trump sentiment,” he elaborated, letting the thought sit there.

Singer Joy Villa donned a dress with the “Make America Great Again” slogan at the Grammys Sunday night, thanks to the help of one San Diego fashion designer.

Andre Soriano of La Mesa designed the dress to represent “love and togetherness” in addition to making a statement, KSWB reported.

“I took my Trump flag from the front of my house and made the gown for her,” Soriano said. “We have to support our president.”

Villa walked the red carpet wearing a white cloak before taking it off to reveal the red, white, and blue Donald Trump-inspired dress.

Villa posted a picture of herself wearing the dress after the show on Instagram.

“Go big, or go home. You can either stand for what you believe or fall for what you don’t,” the post read. “Above all make a choice for tolerance and love. Agree to disagree. See the person over the politics, carry yourself with dignity, always.”

Villa also held a purse shaped like a sacred heart. Soriano said they selected the heart-shaped purse to represent love, family, and togetherness.

“We have to bring this country back,” he said. “There are a lot of people who don’t agree with our president, but they should give him a chance.

Villa’s album sales spiked to the top spot on Amazon’s list of top 100 digital albums, and made it high on the iTunes top albums list after she wore the dress.

On Sunday night singer Joy Villa stunned the music world by wearing a ‘Make America Great Again” Trump dress at the 2017 Grammy Awards.



Within a matter of hours of wearing the now famous Make America Great Again dress, Joy Villa’s album sales of I Make the Static skyrocketed on Amazon and iTunes.

On Thursday Joy released a video thanking her fans and asking them to help her get to the Trump White House.

Joy Villa: The explosion of my album sales, number one on iTunes, number one on Amazon, I could never have forseen this. honestly, I did think I’m going to face a backlash and this may crush my career. And I said, ‘You know. This is what I have to do.’ Andre Soriano and I have been flooded with amazing emails and success stories from you guys standing up for what you believe in and not being afraid anymore. My message, our message and now it’s your message is about love, compassion, unity and understanding.



Joy Villa then asks her fans to do three things.

First: Find the nearest person who does not believe with you in supporting Trump or believing in your political viewpoints. Maybe they’re not conservative or they’re too far conservative… If it’s opposite to what you believe in I want you to give them a hug. And if they’re somebody online I want you to hashtag #BringJoytotheWhiteHouse. And I want you to put hearts on it. Hearts… That’s my number one request.

Number 2: Please go out and buy my album “I make the static” on iTunes or Amazon. iTunes or Amazon are going to influence the sales for the Nelson charts, the Nelson ratings to then go to Billboard. We have to do this by tomorrow, by Saturday. The report comes out on Monday. So keep buying please. And if you’ve already bought thank you from the bottom of my heart. You can look like me and support Trump.… I do believe as an American, voting for Trump was the best choice personally.
