Fellow Americans,

It is already impossible to live on Social Security alone. If they give
benefits to "illegal" aliens who have never contributed, where does that
leave us that have paid into Social Security all our working lives?

The Senate voted this week to allow "illegal" alien's access to Social
Security benefits. Attached is an opportunity to sign a petition that
requires citizenship for eligibility to receive social services.
If you do not wish to sign the petition yourself, please forward on to anyone you

Sorry to rain on your parade DS, but these kind of emailed FWD (forward this to everyone) petitions are absolutely worthless. As you can imagine, anyone can copy hundreds of fake or real names and forward them to the president. He wouldn't pay the least attention as there is no proof these are real people or just made up names.

The real purpose of this kind of phony emailed plea is to gather up email addresses that spammers can use to send you unwanted mail. If you answer these letters you stand a good chance of getting onto hundreds of spam lists, get viruses sent to you, etc. etc.

So please don't waste your precious time on these kinds of emails. Do your friends a favor as well, and DO NOT PASS THIS ON TO THEM!

However, it is true that social security is another thing being impacted by illegal aliens. Better do up a letter, fax or phone call to your senators or representatives. Now THAT has a chance of having an impact.
