CA - Liberals Go Praying For Them Illegals Again

I just got back from the South OC People's Prayer Breakfast at St. George's Episcopal Church in Laguna Hills, an alternative to pricey prayer breakfasts, the ones that are often designed to drum up support for political candidates.

The free event, with roughly 50 in attendance, took the theme "Our God is Undocumented", and highlighted the plight of undocumented (illegal!) immigrants (aliens!), with a focus on the Biblical response to the issue.

Indeed, the breakfast was soaked in Scripture from the get-go, as organizer Tom Airey, a government and economics teacher at Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, opened with several Scripture readings and compared immigrants to the Samaritans of Jesus Christ's day.

"Throughout holy Scripture, God is found in the brokenhearted, and the oppressed, and the poor and all of those of us who find solidarity with them," Airey said. "And we believe that the immigrant community within the U.S. is one such group where God uniquely dwells."

He quoted Exodus 23:9, which reads: "Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners."

The breakfast featured prayers in English and Spanish, and the stories of undocumented (illegal!) immigrants (aliens!).

Alexia Salvatierra, executive director of Clergy & Laity United for Economic Justice, was the keynote speaker. Like Airey, she quoted Scripture, and shared immigration anecdotes and statistics that would, depending on one's political persuasion, stir compassion or suspicion.

"I think that if we practice an attitude of hospitality towards all people, that we come very close to the spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ, that that is really the call of what it means to be a Christian, is to love in that way when we practice hospitality constantly, at every moment. Amen?" she said.

WHY is it that our Federal Government is NOT enforcing the very laws passed by voters, the Congress, and the Senate that protect Americans from invasion?

Why is it that organized religion is EXEMPT?

Why is it that public education is EXEMPT?

Are federal government agencies failing to enforce immigration laws and protect Americans EXEMPT?

One thing is for certain, and that is that Americans are NOT EXEMPT from the social, economic, and criminal upheaval this invasion is wreaking on each and every corner of this nation.

The obvious REALLY IS the obvious!

    U.S. Immigration Law

The U.S. immigration laws require deportation of an illegal alien if the alien:

    1. has been convicted of an aggravated felony
    2. has not resided in the United States for a contiguous period of seven years
    3. was not a lawful permanent resident for a contiguous period of five years
    4. would not have been admissible to the United States on security grounds

This applies to the majority of illegal aliens found in gangs. In order to prove evidence of residence lawfully, they would need to show a visa or other federal document allowing their entry into the United States or an approved application for permanent residence in the United States. Few if any illegal aliens have such documents and only a handful of gang members.

Section 274 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, USC 1324 states:

A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:

    * assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or

    * encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or

    * knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.

City Sanctuary regulations circumvent the law by adopting a don't ask, don't tell policy. A police officer who follows the city regulation to not question a person who he or she suspects is an illegal alien due to probable cause (as in was witness to a previous arrest and subsequent disclosure of illegal alien status or deportation) has placed the officer in violation of Federal Law, and thus that city regulation conflicts with U.S. Immigration law.

It is the responsibility of the U.S. Attorney General, when notified of an entity acting in contravention of U.S. law, to investigate and if necessary bring such organizations before a federal grand jury for possible indictment.

Failure of the U.S. Attorney General to do so, is in of itself, a felony.

"He quoted Exodus 23:9, which reads: "Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners."

To the extent that we feel like foreigners in our own country? Do not oppress a foreigner (illegal), but it's ok to opress citizens? Ok to give our jobs away? Ok to give and give and not recieve the same benefits as a law breaker?

"I think that if we practice an attitude of hospitality towards all people, that we come very close to the spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ, that that is really the call of what it means to be a Christian, is to love in that way when we practice hospitality constantly, at every moment. Amen?" she said."

You want us to be hospitable to people who steal identities, steal jobs, murder and maim, come here without health checks or background checks? You want us to be hospitable to people who want to turn our country into the ones they came from? Hospitable to people who gain benefits through deciet and misplace our citizens in the workforce and break our laws? NO!
