    Illegal immigrants contributions to SS

But by forcing employers to require Social Security cards – even bogus ones – IRCA did manage to rope illegal immigrants into the system. Last year, contributions by illegal immigrants made up about 10 percent of the Social Security surplus – the difference between what the system takes in and what it doles out.

Here's the drill: People enter the country illegally, promptly procure bogus Social Security cards from the black market, and use them to get jobs. Eventually they get paid, and those earnings generate W-2s that go to the Social Security Administration, which tucks them away in something called the "earnings suspense file." (The government does try to notify some of the larger employers that Social Security cards they've accepted appear to be phony, but that's about the extent of its efforts to figure out where all this money is coming from.) According to the best estimates of the Social Security Administration, the fund has kept track over the last 20 years of more than $300 billion in total earnings – the vast majority of them attributable to illegal immigrants.

Oh well.......do they keep track of the wic and welfare and hospital expenses and the section 8's and all the taxes toward schools etc.? Too bad. That's the choice one makes when they choose to go the illegal route. Certainly doesn't mean the persons identity they stole gets the money. The government does so it's not going back in my pocket.

The part that you aren't telling is that funds from the legitimate owner of a social security card are also in the earnings suspense fund. There is no effort to figure out which earnings belong to the legitimate worker and which were deposited to the illegal alien. The victim whose identity was stolen reaches retirement without the benefit of the earnings in the suspense fund which they earned. So there is really no way to attribute $300 billion to any one since no one figures it out!
Go troll somewhere else. We're not buying.

I saw illegals declare 9 deductions: no income tax withheld. The illegals boasted of using those non-existent 9 kids to get the maximum in earned income credit. What is it $4,200 for 9 kids?

Of course, the illegals had to spend a couple hundred for new ID for the next tax year.

At the wages the typical illegal earns the social security they pay is refunded via the EITC. Along with free medical care, etc.

Claiming that illegals somehow pay for what they take out of the system is an unmitigated LIE. It is a fact that the cost of illegal immigration is MANY TIMES OVER what little taxer we are able to wring out of the illegal dirtbags.

What part of "illegal" do you not get, troll?

This is the same false claim that a friend makes concerning his welfare check. He honestly believes that the sales tax he alone pays is sufficient to cover the amount of his welfare check. I can not get him to understand that the 7.25 % sale tax he alone pays can not add up to the total amount of his welfare check! This person is a high school graduate BTW.
The fact is that the average hospital costs of having just one child exceeds the annual salary of the average illegal immigrant. This is just one example of the negative monetary impact of illegal immigrants in our country. These people think that 1 + 1 = 11.

Your friend should go back to school and learn the difference between state and federal taxes. The benefits granted by the federal government are paid for by federal taxes, such as payroll taxes and federal excises. That sales tax pays for state government and state infrastructure like roads and bridges.

There is a difference between state and federal taxes - but the line is getting blurred.

For instance, when the government decided states should be providing more and more things to people in the form of eduation and welfare - the states didn't have the money and some would be unfairly affected by the 'mandates', due to the income level and racial makeup of their states.

So Washington said, we will up the income taxes, so you don't have to up your state taxes. WE will take in the bulk of taxes and return to you on a proportional basis - depending on your needs.

Over the years, the mandates have grown and grown - especially the mandates to care for illegal aliens and their special needs.

President Bush has cut back on the federal funding for these federal mandates. States have had to be very creative in finding ways to finance education, healthcare, and other services for these people.

Many states must have a balanced budget - they can't just borrow like the feds - so it has been a real problem.

So when the federal government says a state must pay for so and so - but we won't send you money - you must raise taxes or fees yourself - then that is not totally a state tax. It is a tax states tax, forced to put in place by the federal government.

Sadly, Texas state government is just another appendage of the Bush Administration right now.

But that illegals actually contribute in a positive manner to anything in this country except the bottom line of illegal employers - is just a fallacy.

This state just changes it's terms. "Failure to meet obligations due to no money" becomes a "cash management initiative policy." Whatever you call it the nursing home is not going to get paid its' due from Medicaid.

Medicaid Cash Management Initiative for June 2006 Announced

In a meeting Friday with KAHSA representatives and Cabinet for Health and Family Services Secretary Mark Birdwhistell, Medicaid announced that they have finalized their decision to institute a cash management initiative policy relating to payments for Nursing Facilities and Intermediate Care Facilities of the Mental Retarded (ICF/MR) services.

The payment schedule announced is as follows:

Medicaid will not make a Medicaid payment to Nursing Facilities and ICF/MR's in the early part of June 2006. It is possible that a partial or full payment may be made to Nursing Facilities in late June but this would depend on the predicted amount of total Medicaid expenditures and the amount of funds available to reimburse providers. This information will not be known until later part of June 2006.
