It’s not possible to know exactly how many immigrants cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally each year, since some go undetected, but clearly it’s a lot.

In 2013 alone, U.S. Border Patrol caught a whopping 414,397 people trying to make it onto U.S. soil.

In case you ever wondered how they do it, here are some of the most inventive methods people have used:

It’s clear that although they’re breaking the law, these people are going to great lengths to get themselves to a better place to try and live better lives.

While many of us are asking what America can do to stop this influx, it’s also worth looking at their countries of origin.
