Why “Must” America Attack Syria? The Real Reason Behind Our Aggressive Actions

As President Eisenhower pointed out so clearly many years ago, the military industrial complex, the manufacturing base of our preeminent military might, is, by its very existence, a beast which must be fed. It is a necessary component of modern day America, which has a vital purpose in the defense of our nation. It must also be held on a tight and strong leash. The second edge of this two-edged sword is the fundamental combative risk and the financial demands that maintaining such powerful weaponry inherently create. Let me clear, I am not in favor of an attack. I am simply expressing my view that the personal benefit to those in power makes it extremely unlikely that America will not attack Syria. I hope I am wrong.

Transactions must take place; military hardware must be purchased in order to maintain the manufacturing ability. Without a profit, the industry does not survive. There must be a state of ongoing warfare in order to satisfy the bottom line requirements of the military industrial complex. Without war, the industry, and our self defense and military advantage will suffer.

American foreign policy is presently governed not only by the needs of our nation but also by the needs of this powerful and influential business sector.

The next windfall was to be Syria. The dogs of war are salivating at the city gates. It remains to be seen whether the demands of a war for profit will take precedent over the good of the nation. The military industrial complex is well represented not only in the White House, but in the United States Congress as well.

At a minimum, it appears we will have a public debate on the issue and Hussein Obama will not be permitted to illegally drag us into yet another bottom-line driven conflict. False premises don’t stand Constitutional muster. If the Constitution is used in determining whether a declaration of war is to be issued, there will be none.

This video of Eisenhower details exactly how dangerous this balancing act was during his tenure as president. Things have only gotten more perilous since then. I have posted it before, but it is so important, in my opinion, that I am doing my best to have it seen by as many people as possible. If you’ve watched before, thank you for your patience. If not, please take five minutes. It will really open your eyes, as it speaks directly to the situation we find ourselves in today.
