Uh...Am I the Only One Here....

Am I the only one who thinks these "amendments" to the Senate bill are either: 1) smoke screens to try to get people to rally behind their bill.

    or

    2) truly well-meaning but will be useless without enforcement.

Let's remember something: without ENFORCEMENT, all the laws on the books are meaningless. And that it is LACK OF ENFORCEMENT that has gotten us into the mess in which we currently find ourselves.

One amendment yesterday was about adding 50 Million Dollars to assist border states, counties, and cities with law enforcement. That sounds great until you realize the 50 Million Dollars is a drop in the bucket and won't provide any meaningful help at all. Again, I see it as a smoke screen...a diversion. A PLOY.

Please do not put much faith in these "amendments" despite how great they may seem. They will be meaningless without enforcement and funding. The only thing these amendments truly show is which Senators are total sell-outs to the American citizen. That's all I get out of these things.

Rohrabacher (R-CA) says the same thing on Lous Dobbs - CNN.

BEWARE of the AMENDMENTS -- they are just smoke screens. They are totally useless without ENFORCEMENT

    Nope. You are not alone.

For the first and last time, I watched the Senate hearing on C-Span today. In one day, I could tell who the yeas were and the nays.
    aka good guys/bad guys.

All the speeches, all the jabbing, all the play acting, etc., is for naught. You are so, so correct. Laws are in place, new laws made, but no action on the enforcement side of things. None as pertains to these aliens, immigrants, whatever. Nothing I can see.

As you say, without enforcement, useless. They aren't even good entertainment. Make good salaries though, don't they....

    KickEmOut .. right on!

Lack of AMERICAN leadership is what has gotten us into this mess. If our government had been doing the jobs they are paid to do, none of this would even be an issue. They are there to serve us, LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZENS AND LEGAL IMMIGRANTS and to protect our country.
I don't know about you but I haven't seen that since the VERY early 60's.

Oh I am not fooled. There only needs to be a few things in this bill.

    1. Seal the border so tight a mouse is not slipping through (great big cement wall, men with guns who can use them).
    2. Deport all illegals found.
    3. Prosecute employers with heavy fines and jail time.
    4. No social programs, no health care, no schooling to illegals.
    5. No anchor babies.

And just as a gesture of good will for all the hardship caused to the American taxpayer a resignation from every traitorous, treasonous elected official from the top right on down. The ones that have been fighting for us can stay of course.

    That is my bill.

Consider this: If the laws currently on the books were enforced and funded, we would not have an illegal immigration problem.

I wrote my Senator and told him it was nothng but a bunch of silliness, what is going on in the Senate.

Told him the Senate could screw up a parking ticket!

I've never heard of such things....some even voted to stop English only!

And they voted for them to get OUR S.S.!
Do not vote for Party this year, vote for America and American workers!

Other than Domenici and of course that halfwit Jeffords, every single Sen. opposing the Inhofe amendment was a Democrat.

Sorry, but the way the posts are going here, I feel I have to keep reminding that side of the aisle that the Republicans are only half of the problem, and maybe not even the biggest half.

Yes, the Dems are the worst. But nothing matters without enforcement, that's a fact. The Republicans can get all the well-meaning amendments added to the bill that they want, but they are totally useless without funding for enforcement. So how many funding amendments have been added? How many amendments call for enforcement to be the prime directive?

I've been a lifelong Republican and I've see too many Republicans getting whimpy and whiney on this topic. They need to grow some b****s or I'm not supporting that party any longer.

I will support politicians from ANY party who will put America first, and that goes for any issue at any time.

Yes, but the Democrats are presumed to be either blind or willful. The Republicans are not.

ANd, these problems would not exist if it were not for Republican leadership ignoring their base.

AND Bush could do 100 things to fix the problem(s) all by himself

AND Any republican in the Senate could introduce legislation with guts and teeth in it.

AND the problem is that since republican leaders now act like democrats (because Republican leaders have largely been Globalists thanks to the Rockefeller wing of the Republican party) - it is a change in Republican Leadership that is needed, from Insincere Patricians, to Genuine Grass Roots people.

So if turning against Republicans helps to accomplish change within the Republicans, that does not seem like a bad thing.

And if the democrats get in, then the people will find out where they stand...or fail to stand.

Let's be brutally honest: THe Only thing that matters is when you force Politicians to STOP and PAY Attention to You. Its time to think about ways to do that.
