Take That! Eric Cantor Loss A Rallying Point for Anti-Amnesty Patriots To Build Upon

Posted on 10 June, 2014 by Rick Wells

In a stunning upset, the House Majority leader, Eric Cantor (R-VA) was relieved of his position by a vote of the people whose voices he has often ignored and dismissed as irrelevant. Now he is on the path to irrelevance himself.
A tea party candidate, economics professor David Brat was the one to deliver the knockout blow, in spite of an underfunded campaign and being outspent 5-to-1.
The Associated Press reports that Brat’s defeat of Cantor shocked the political establishment. That understatement may be indicative of the degree with which the establishment elites felt immune from accountability.
Cantor’s insistence upon representing the interests of illegal aliens and their Chamber of Commerce backers over his constituents had consequences. Not only did it cost him his office, but this event may have been the wake-up call to similar amnesty proponents telling them, “do so at your own peril.”
Cantor, as House Majority Leader, was the second-most powerful member of the U.S. House and had been identified as a likely successor to Speaker John Boehner. We can entertain some optimism that Boehner may take note of what can happen as a result of unresponsive leadership. Though he has already survived a primary challenge and likely secured his House seat, there is no guarantee that he will remain speaker.
The Brat campaign labeled Cantor as a DC insider who was not a true conservative and who no longer represented the will of the people. The vote on Tuesday seems to have validated those assertions.
Cantor had incited angst among his constituents by parsing words rather than leading opposition to illegal alien amnesty, aligning himself with the Obama regime in seeking ways to wiggle amnesty through the House opposition. He was expected to take a strong pro-amnesty tack once his primary challenge had been dispatched. Lame-duck shenanigans aside, that is now unlikely.
Sneering, out-of-touch incumbents who feel they can act with impunity on behalf of those who finance their campaigns and lifestyle rather than those they took an oath to represent should be paying attention. Are you watching, Paul Ryan?

This is a great event for liberty and for the citizens of America. We still have a fighting chance. The video below shows just how unpopular and dismissive Cantor had become in the days leading up to his defeat as he was roundly booed at the 7th district Republican convention.

Eric Cantor Primary Loss a Referendum Against Amnesty

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA), who was in line to be the next House Speaker, shockingly lost his primary Tuesday to economics professor Dave Brat. In knocking Cantor off and shocking Washington and the GOP establishment, voters in Virginia's seventh congressional district may have killed amnesty legislation in this Congress.

The Associated Press called the race for Brat at 8:03 PM EST with around 85% of the vote in and Brat leading 55.8% to 44.2%.
In the final weeks of the campaign, Brat made the race completely about amnesty and open borders, saying a vote for Cantor would be a vote for "open borders," and the seventh district primary would be the "last chance" to stop amnesty.
Regarding amnesty legislation, voters told Cantor and Congress, "not so fast."
After anti-amnesty Republican Ann Coulter endorsed Brat, Laura Ingraham, who has relentlessly fought for American workers against amnesty on her national radio program, campaigned for him last week. Brat said on Breitbart News Sunday that 700 people showed up to the event and some even parked in Cantor's cul-de-sac.
In wanting to crush Brat, Cantor inadvertently elevated Brat's name identification. After Cantor's top ally got ousted from a top GOP chairmanship in his district last month, Cantor did not take anything for granted, while Brat redoubled his amnesty attack. Cantor outspent Brat by more than ten to one during the last seven weeks of the campaign. Cantor spent nearly a million dollars, sending multiple deceptive anti-amnesty mailers ahead of the primary and ensuring his website made no mention of his previous support for amnesty and an increase in the number of high-tech visas. In endorsing Cantor, the Richmond Times-Dispatch did not even mention immigration at all. Brat's campaign spent only $76,000.
But Brat was relentless in his attacks on Cantor.
Cantor has proclaimed that "one of the great founding principles" of the country was that children would not be punished for the mistakes of their parents, which is why illegal immigrant minors should be given amnesty. Brat said that was "one of the most radical pro-amnesty statements ever delivered by a sitting representative." He blamed Cantor's words, which were also in the House GOP leadership's immigration principles, for attracting illegal immigrant children to the U.S.
United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) National Council President Kenneth Palinkas made the same point months ago, arguing that if one of America's "great founding principles" is that illegal immigrant children should be granted amnesty, then Congress would have to award perpetual amnesty to the children of illegal immigrants.
The anti-Cantor We Deserve Better PAC ran ads warning voters that Cantor's next deal with Obama will be to give "amnesty and citizenship" to illegal immigrants, which Cantor confirmed in an interview with a local television station last Friday.
"But I have told the President there are some things that we can work on together," Cantor said in a Friday interview with a local television station. "We can work on the border security bill together. We can work on things like the kids."
As Breitbart News reported, "the kids" referred to Cantor's support for a bill that would grant amnesty to illegal immigrant children who came to the U.S. when they were children, which Cantor even said was "Biblical."
Breitbart Texas first reported that illegal immigrants were overwhelming the system and being warehoused in Texas, forcing the Obama administration to send them to bus stops in Arizona and neighboring states like Oklahoma. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) said these actions threaten America's national security.
Voters in Virginia's seventh district seemed to have enough of illegal immigration in sending shockwaves throughout the country on Tuesday.

EARTHQUAKE: Eric Cantor Loses Primary to Unheralded, Under-funded Tea Party Challenger

    Guy Benson | Jun 10, 2014

    This is genuinely shocking:

Wasserman calls it the "biggest House upset" he's ever seen. Elections expert Sean Trende pronounces himself speechless. Team Cantor is likely as stunned as anyone else:

One recent poll showed a potential tightening of the race, but with Cantor still ahead by double digits. And yet...the sitting House Majority Leader got blown out in a race everyone expected him to win comfortably. Incidentally, it's not as if he totally ignored his primary race either:

    The immediate lesson?

    Here's why:

Brat has exposed discontent with Cantor in the solidly Republican, suburban Richmond 7th Congressional District by attacking the lawmaker on his votes to raise the debt ceiling and end the government shutdown, as well as his support for some immigration reforms. At a May meeting of Republican activists in the district, Cantor was booed, and an ally he campaigned for was ousted as the local party chairman in favor of a tea party favorite.

I'll leave you with this link to, ahem, Republican nominee Dave Brat's website. Oh, and this:

Safe seat. Probably. But as tonight shows, take nothing for granted.

    Earth quake????? Earth Shattering?????

That look say's it all! Shock....Now if we can get some more wins like this that would be the ticket!

I could look at that look all day!

This is so huge and so wonderful! All the years of hard work by ALIPAC and NumbersUSA are paying off. It's hard to believe, at least for me, that after a decade, this battle is still on, when by all logic and numbers, it should have been won 8 years ago, which goes to show the magnitude of the forces we fight on this issue. But as the ole saying goes, it's better late than never, and because quitters never win because winners never quit, we will win this. LEAD ON ALIPAC!!!

Earthquake! Stunning! OMG! Watch Smoke Come Out News Anchors’ Ears As Brat Defeats Cantor

June 11, 2014 by Personal Liberty News Desk

Talking heads across mainstream media Tuesday evening were beside themselves as it became clearer with each passing commercial break that Dave Brat, whom no one outside Virginia had heard of before this week, was going to knock House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) from his six-term Congressional career.
Brat did just that in the two-candidate Virginia Republican primary race, with wiggle room to spare. He earned 56 percent of the vote to Cantor’s 44 percent.
TV anchors, thirsting for an excuse to crank the hype amp to 11, went berserk:

Coming back down to Earth, Brat’s win was pretty significant in historical terms: Cantor’s defeat marks the first time an incumbent House Majority Leader has been ousted during a primary election since the position of House Majority Leader has existed, dating back to 1899.
