Texas Registration Deadline Tuesday for November Election

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Texans planning to vote in next month's general election are running out of time to register.
Tuesday was the deadline to register to cast a ballot for the Nov. 8 election.

Texas Secretary of State Carlos Cascos says early voting begins Oct. 24 and runs through Nov. 4.


Voters must be U.S. citizens and residents of the county where they plan to cast ballots.


Voters must present one of seven approved forms of photo identification in order to cast a ballot in person. The list includes a Texas driver's license, a Texas election identification certificate issued by the Department of Public Safety, a personal identification card issued by DPS, a Texas license to carry a handgun, a U.S. military identification card, a U.S. citizenship certificate or a U.S. passport.
