TN SENATOR LAMAR ALEXANDER KNOWS WE'RE MAD
Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander is making the rounds in Tennessee and hearing from constituents. If anyone is in the area he is visiting, go to the event and ask the questions or make the clarion call to not vote for this bill as he is announcing his decision to run again with a video presentation at these meet and greets. He mentioned something about Fred Thompson and the ticket. VP possibly?
Mayor Tom Rowland, Mayor Gary Davis, Republican Representative Johnathan Cantrell and other local leaders exchanged pleasantries with the many listeners, supporters and media gathered together. Mayor Tom Rowland further commented that Bradley County and Cleveland, TN delivered a strong Republican showing in the recent election.
Senator Alexander expressed his desire to talk to those present and wanted to speak one on one. His field representative took the comments in writing as each person spoke. The first was from a lady who was an immigrant, now legalized American citizen. She expressed concerns over the health examinations of these millions if this bill were to go through. What would the costs of this be to conduct medical evaluations she wanted to know. Senator Alexander did not know he said, but acknowledged it was a good question and would follow up with her. The second personal contact was from a campaign assistant to Senator Bob Corker (makes you wonder about Corker). The topic again was illegal immigration, but this was more of a suggestion of how to make the bill more palatable. The third person wanted to discuss illegal immigration and its drastic impact to Tennessee in general, Maryville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Clarksville, McMinnville,Cleveland, TN and Bradley County at the city, county and neighborhood level. They mentioned the crimes, criminals, and the cultural impact. The recent discovery of fugitives in a single home along with the large numbers of illegal aliens residing and being assisted in Cleveland, TN lead to the final question of, "Why should we trust you after the 1986," debacle. The Senator again kept repeating "We need to secure the Border."
A letter was presented to Senator Alexander informing him that the writer would consider gathering support for a recall if the Senate immigration bill passes. At the very least many will mobilize against him for future consideration of any office if this bill goes through as crafted. Letters and flyers were passed to the crowd. Other individuals in the line of greeters mentioned the illegal immigration issue as their concern in their comments or questions to Senator Alexander.
The staff was made aware of the ALIPAC video on YOUTUBE titled "SENATOR SELLOUTS," and the fact that the video showed Senator Alexander with the Big Red "A" stamped across his forehead. They recognized the anger of people and were out to receive feedback.
The concern with Alexander is that he kept saying he had not made up his mind about the previous vote till moments before taken. He is again repeating that he has not made up his mind about this bill. He and his staff are commenting that he voted for the Vitter Amendment.
Calls to his office this morning were to ask his staff if he was for "AMNESTY." They immediately responded "NO." Then they were made aware of websites saying he was for amnesty. One young staffer said there were not laws currently to stop this problem. I must admit that was a doozie of a statement. Too young to remember the past (1986), not prepared enough to answer the questions of today.
Make a call to Senator Lamar Alexander. They think we are so dumb and they can bluff us.
