Thread: ALIPAC Mass Traffic ALERT. We are working on it.

Please forgive the slow website today. Some of our larger allies have linked in to our release on the homepage and a lot of new people are on the site right now pushing our capacity.

I just got off of the phone with our Communications Director and Webmaster, Daryl Jurbala, and we have decided it is time for our next upgrade to handle the new capacity.

It appears that when our site approaches 6,000 pages viewed per hour, or approximately 5+ hits per second, we start slowing way down.

We will do all we can to make this a smooth transition and will warn everyone when we switch over to higher capacity equipment sometime next week.

Meanwhile, everyone keep up the great work and just be patient with the slow service till we can adjust things.

I think we have some strange blue smoke and ozone oozing out of our server right now, but that is the right kind of problem to have.

I was wondering why it was slowing down for searches and posts. It's a good problem to have even if it takes a few more seconds to post and search.

Worth the wait. Glad it isn't my computer :P

If we are going to have a problem, this is the right reason to have one!

If you need us regulars to get off and free up space, let us know. I will be happy to throw myself of the sword for the cause!

These daily web traffic hits are unprecedented in ALIPAC's history. If we keep this up, we will set a new record for a third month in a row!
