Donald Trump claims Germany owes the US and Nato ‘vast sums of money’ for defence of Europe against Russia

Despite running £234billion budget surplus, Germany just spends 1.23% of GDP while debt laden UK coughs up required 2%

DONALD Trump has blasted cash rich Germany for owing “vast sums of money” to Nato.
Tweeting a day after an awkward meeting with German leader Angela Merkel, Trump demanded Berlin should cough up billions of Euros more on defence.

Donald Trump had a frank meeting with Angela Merkel yesterday. Only the US and four other Nato members – including the UK – currently reach the alliance’s benchmark of spending on defence which is 2% of GDP.

But Germany spends a miserly 1.23% of its national income despite running a whopping £234billion budget surplus.

The two leaders showed little common ground yesterday over a host of thorny issues, including Nato and defence spending.

And today Trump tweeted: “Germany owes vast sums of money to NATO & the United States must be paid more for the powerful, and very expensive, defence it provides to Germany!”

During their joint news conference, Trump – who has criticised NATO as “obsolete” – demanded that America’s allies in the military alliance pay back “vast sums of money from past years”.

Merkel said Germany had committed to increasing its military spending to the previously agreed level of 2% of GDP for NATO’s European members.

Trump set the tone for his relations with Merkel during his campaign last year, saying her decision to allow close to a million refugees into Germany was a “catastrophic mistake” and suggested she was “ruining Germany”.

We've gone into outrageous debt to pay for DEFENDING THEM! What kind of health care and infrastructure could we have HERE IN OUR OWN NATION if we hadn't spent TRILLIONS on DEFENDING THEM!?!

They sit there sneering at us with their free better-than-Cadillac health care for all, beautiful new infrastructure, and fat budget surpluses while we have millions of our fellow citizens with no health insurance (or those of us that do have it have $5,000 deductibles) and our bridges and roads are falling apart!! All of it at OUR EXPENSE!!! If they had been pulling their weight we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now!! GO TRUMP!!!

UK reporter, KATIE Hopkins said Donald Trump’s mission to drain the swamp should start with Angela Merkel – or the “bog monster” as she put it.
Katie Hopkins mocked Angela Merkel by claiming she is the woman in charge of the entire establishment ‘swamp’.


The Express reports,

She said the meeting between Donald Trump and the German Chancellor should never have been “tolerated” because “nothing productive” will result from it.
The LBC host said if Donald Trump really wants to “drain the swamp” then he should start with the German leader, before branding her the boss of the Brussels beaurocrats.
The furious journalist condemned Angela Merkel as “the unelected leader of the unelected bureaucrats in Brussels”.
She said that if Mr Trump was to follow through on his promises to drain the swamp, then he should target Mrs Merkel.

Hopkins added: “She is virtually the bog-monster!”
Hopkins noted: “He wants the travel ban. She is the mother of all migrants.”
Before the meeting went ahead, she told Fox Business Insider: “This meeting is the political equivalent of having your ex wife at your wedding.
“It is going to be the most awkward meeting of all time. These two could not be more opposite.”
Hopkins’ prediction came true as the meeting yesterday between the two leaders ran into several awkward moments, including the President’s refusal to shake his counterpart’s hand.

Dear President Trump:

The USA and it's Taxpayers are NOT the dumping ground or ATM machine for the World anymore. These countries need to pay their fair share or we get it out of them through other means, or we bring our troops home. Cut foreign aid by 50% this FY and another 50% the following year. Get these countries weaned OFF of our money. They must stop the corruption and start taking care of their own citizens. Defund the UN and get them out of NY and off our soil.

Please terminate the FAILED refugee, asylum and illegal invasion of our Country. Please defund ALL these programs and stop giving Churches OUR money to facilitate their Human Trafficking of these people. We are 20 trillion in debt. Until our debt is paid off and our citizens are off the streets and working...no one should come here from anywhere! No more Student Visa's, our education system needs and overhaul and our schools are overcrowded.

We are asking you to E-verify ALL government benefits including changing the Laws that will allow NO illegals aliens to attend our Public Schools and colleges. In addition, no more ESL teachers as taxpayer expense to teach people English. They MUST take these classes outside the public school and will only be admitted with they can read, write and speak English. Then and only then will they be placed in our classrooms in the appropriate grade level.

Set up a Federal Tent City on Federal Land where ALL illegals and Visa overstays are immediately handed over to ICE under Federal jurisdiction. Get them out of the custody of the State and Local jails and court systems. Set up a women's and men's facility. ALL minor's need to be handed over into the care and custody of THEIR Embassy for deportation. Let their President set up facility on their soil to care for them. We are not the World's babysitter. Put a Panel of Judges, like a Court Martial, where they review the cases of the illegal aliens and Visa overstays. Do not release them into our communities. They need to be deported and/or serve time...then immediate deportation with NO privileges to return to our country.

End the anchor baby scam. Issue a Certificate of Child Born abroad, no US Birth Certificate, no citizenship and NO eligibility for taxpayer benefits. Get illegal aliens OFF our healthcare, our of our hospitals. No IRS tax credits or refunds to illegal aliens.

End DACA, no work permits, no path to citizenship. We have been sold that "bill of goods" too many times. No deal.
