Trump flawed? On every front, Washington is worse

    By Charles Hurt - - Sunday, March 20, 2016
    ANALYSIS/OPINION:

    Their delusions swarm unabated.

All the political experts and professional politicians here in the beating heart of the federal Leviathan are still stuck in denial over the unstoppable electoral sensation that is Donald Trump.

But he is a crook, a con-man, a cheesy huckster! He doesn’t understand that proper politicians are never supposed to actually say the truth. That’s what they call a “gaffe,” a “blunder,” a “slip-of-the-tongue.”

Always best to just put out a statement. “Walk it back,” they call it. Express regret.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Mr. Trump is the Big Bad Wolf and with one puff he has blown away all their silly houses made of straw or feathers or whatever fraudulent materials these people dwell among.

Worse yet, they say, there is solid, incontrovertible proof that he is a liar and a con artist and aims to pull off a great swindle against the American people.

The problem, of course, is that all of this comes from the very people who have already pulled off the greatest swindles in the history of mankind. Not since the Garden of Eden have mortals been exposed to such evil and thievery as this government allows, encourages or flat-out perpetrates.

“Look at Trump University!” they squeal. People supposedly went into hock for worthless degrees. Hmmm, sound familiar? Talk to any college grads lately still living with their parents who owe tens of thousands of dollars to a federally accredited university and no job?

Or better yet, consider Social Security. It currently collects about $780 billion a year from workers, disbursing about $850 billion to retirees. It piles up $70 billion in losses each year and the gap keeps widening.

Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme took in about $20 billion from his victims and he ultimately valued his investments at $65 billion. So depending on how you compare the two Ponzi schemes, the Social Security swindle is anywhere from the same size as Madoff’s — every single year — or more than 10 times the size.

The only other big difference between the two Ponzi schemes is who goes to jail — it’s you, if you refuse to pay into the government-run swindle. And these people think “Donald Trump” will somehow corrupt this place?

Let’s not even talk about the criminal bank bailouts after the government-spiked housing crisis.

Then they cry a river over Trump Water, a company they complain does not exist or is not profitable or something. Whatever. I will take a million gallons of Trump Water before I would take a single drop of their Flint water, a toxic brew that only government bureaucrats at every level of every government involved could conjure up.

Trump Steaks? Better than U.S. government food stamps.

Long, confusing word salad speech that sounds more like an infomercial? Not nearly so vexing and pernicious as the Obamacare website.

Using eminent domain for private development? How about using the IRS to persecute people for their political beliefs.

Literally, there is not a single accusation these people can throw at Donald Trump that cannot be thrown right back at them — times a thousand.

He sat silent as his campaign manager was accused of roughly accosting a reporter at a press conference? The Justice Department has sat silent for eight years as Wall Street bankers, brokers and thieves were rewarded with billions for their transgressions while innocent Americans lost their life savings, their retirements and their homes.

A protester gets sucker-punched at a Donald Trump rally? Oh, what any one of those 4,000 patriots killed — and many thousands more maimed and ruined — would give for just a sucker punch. For a war, it turned out, didn’t really matter all that much to these political experts and professional politicians.

These people, the Washington political class, are like the kid who killed his parents, then begs for mercy from the judge because he is an orphan.

Wow! So beautiful. The establishment is a hierarchical club that all members have to graduate to with permission. No upward steps are taken without a nod or go ahead. Enter Trump. The big problem now is all the dislocation that will occur when Trump wins. They were banking on Trump fizzling out and backing down from his outrageous statements no GOP'er would dare say. Instead Trump doubles down and speaks the truth with such ease it even scares the elite press. Now the problem is that many of the establishment relics are outdated and need to be replaced with members interested in America's best interest and not their own. This is really thousands of men and women in establishment and related positions who will more than likely be looking for work if he wins. They cringe at hearing Trump at the convention spew out speech directly from his rallies. They see themselves so far above it they can't bear the idea they will have to listen to what will be everyday speak when Trump wins the presidency. The biggest winners going forward are those who fall behind him now and get in touch with the new common sense conservative movement.
