Comey offers dramatic details of Trump meetings in opening statement

The Senate Intelligence Committee on Wednesday released the opening statement former FBI Director James Comey is expected to deliver during a highly anticipated appearance on Thursday.

Comey will confirm reports that President Trump pressed him to “let go” of the bureau’s investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
Comey also will say that the president said to him, "I need loyalty. I expect loyalty."Comey also confirms Trump's claim that he assured the president personally he was not under investigation, according to his statement.

Jim Comey is digging his own hole. This testimony makes him look like an idiot, a girlie-man, a wimp, a gossip, sneaky, self-serving, creepy, weird and shady. There is absolutely nothing peculiar or inappropriate about these meetings or phone calls. A President has every right to stand up for good people like Flynn who get embroiled in some internal political situation like a dispute with the Vice President over what was said about the conversation with the Russian ambassador. There is no crime in not telling the Vice President every word you said in a conversation with someone before Inauguration or after. The only reason it mattered is Vice President Pence went on Face the Nation and tried to represent what Flynn had and had not said to someone else which was then slightly contradicted in a press report that Flynn told a reporter "oh well, maybe something was said, I don't remember". I realize Pence meant well, but that's just not wise, because no one can say with any assurance what someone else said or didn't say or how they said it or in what context to someone else because usually they don't remember if it's no big deal to begin with.

Flynn did our country a great service in that phone call about the diplomats, he got Russia to refrain to evicting our diplomatic corps from Russia in retaliation for Obama evicting 35 Russian diplomats. He urged calm, wait, don't escalate. The Trump Mission with Russia is to improve our relationship, that is still his goal, it was his goal throughout his campaign, something Trump Supporters want to see, and if it can be achieved on good reliable terms that benefit our country, then all Americans will benefit from a peaceful non-hostile relationship with Russia.

Like Trump says, "wouldn't it be nice to be friends with Russia?" He said it at all his rallies for months. Trump still wants that, because he believes as many of US do, that this is in our best interest. That doesn't mean you can always trust Russia, it doesn't mean there won't be disagreements over issues, it doesn't mean we can reach a new agreement on anything, it means we want to try and do it in a new way to hopefully achieve a new day in US-Russia relations.

Also, the FBI is NOT an independent agency. Funny how Comey has tried to implant this foolishness into the narrative and like any lie, if you repeat it often enough, people might believe it, even though it's still a lie. The FBI reports to the President of the United States like every other agency of the Executive Branch. The FBI is not an independent non-profit privatized outfit like the US Postal Service. They are a law enforcement agency reporting to and managed by the President the same way a police department is managed by and accountable to a Mayor ot a county Sheriff's Department is managed by and accountable to the Sheriff. The FBI is no different than the DEA, ATF, ICE, and Border Patrol. No different at all.

Comey set up to get millions in book, movie deals; producers looking for actor to play martyr FBI director

Hell hath no fury like an Obama appointee scorned.

Disgraced FBI director James Comey joins the growing list of political fat cats set to rake in millions from the notoriety they gained by obstructing President Trump.

Comey, 56, is reportedly being wooed by the publishing world following his high-profile firing and unlawful leaks to media outlets like the New York Times.

Editors are prepared to offer him a book advance of $10 million to dish dirt on Trump and Hillary Clinton. While a career politician being fired hardly sounds like an intriguing story line, Trump’s undisputed star power has made James Comey a household name.

“By being fired by The Donald, Jim Comey’s going to have the biggest Washington golden parachute ever,” a publishing insider told the Daily Mail. “Trump’s going to make him a Hollywood celebrity, a literary lion and a multimillionaire. Trump’s gonna kick himself. But he’ll be a major player in both the big screen and the book story.'”

An acquisition editor for a top New York publishing house said Trump’s feud has elevated Comey so much that his firing will provide the ultimate golden parachute to subsidize a lavish retirement.

“When his [book] proposal hits my desk, I’ve already been authorized to offer $10 million,” the editor said. “Jim Comey’s story has everything, from White House intrigue to possible corruption and law-breaking. His explosive story makes ‘West Wing’ and ‘House of Cards’ on par with Mister Rogers.”



Hollywood producers are also salivating at the chance to trash President Trump with a movie based on Comey’s life that will culminate with his confrontation with the brash billionaire. One movie agent said:

I know one top-drawer producer who’s already talking to stars to cast the Comey role. He has to be tall, good-looking and a Jimmy Stewart-John Wayne-hero type. I was mesmerized when I spent the whole day watching Comey testify. Comey could expect a movie deal tied into the book worth many millions of dollars more, tens of millions.

Comey’s sudden elevation is being fueled by the left-wing media’s fawning portrayals of him as a martyr after Trump fired him.

Ironically, Democrats and the liberal media had viciously slammed Comey for months after his July 2016 press conference where he criticized Hillary Clinton’s gross mishandling of top-secret government intel (see video above).

At the time, many liberals demanded that James Comey be fired. But when Trump did fire him, they predictably sided with Comey in a knee-jerk reaction to undermine the president.

Comey obviously learned a lot by watching grifters Bill and Hillary Clinton, who cavalierly used their stints in political office to rake in hundreds of millions of dollars. So it seems the swamp just gets richer while paying lip service to helping the poor.
