Trump to Meet with GOP Leaders to Mend Fences

    Saturday, March 19, 2016 04:59 PM
    By: Todd Beamon

Donald Trump will meet Monday with nearly two dozen top Republicans for the first time in an off-the-record session in hopes of building party unity.

"Mr. Trump is continuing his outreach to Washington and there has been an overwhelming positive response," Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski told The Washington Post on Saturday.

The session will be held before the Republican front-runner speaks to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee in Washington, Lewandowski said. He would not say who would be attending.

The meeting was arranged by Alabama GOP Sen. Jeff Sessions, whom the developer named head of his foreign policy advisory committee this week, and Trump campaign counsel Donald McGahn and other advisers, the Post reports.

A Sessions spokesman Saturday referred Newsmax to the Trump campaign.

The gathering will be held at McGahn's D.C. law firm, Jones Day, near the Capitol.

Maybe there are some Real Republicans in the melee of Congress who actually agree with many of us on immigration, trade, economy, jobs and peace on earth. If there are, then I know Donald Trump would want to help them win re-elections.

This is how you begin to bridge all the gaps. Sen. Sessions will play a pivotal roll in Trumps unification of the republican party. Remember, if Trump does not get to the oval office, then none of this matters. He doesn't need everyone, but just enough to tip the scales his way. Trump has to trust Sen. Sessions on how to navigate this tricky road without losing too much of the valuable cargo (ideas).

This is a very smart move. Many campaigners would let this fester, let the chips fall where they may, let it all come out in the wash.... Trump is seizing the initiative right now!
