With the Saturday arrest of billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein on charges of sex-trafficking minors - days after a judge ordered that nearly 2,000 documents be made public following a 2017 court motion originally brought by filmmaker and author Mike Cernovich, the internet is once again abuzz with speculation over who exactly might be implicated by the new evidence.
Epstein pleaded guilty to one count of soliciting prostitution from a 14 year old girl in 2008 for which he served 13 months in jail in a sweetheart deal with the DOJ brokered by current Labor Secretary Alex Acosta. The sealed records appeal, meanwhile, stemmed from a separate 2015 defamation lawsuit in New York brought by Epstein victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre against British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell. Giuffre says Maxwell helped Epstein traffic herself and other underage girls to sex parties at the billionaire pedophile's many residences.

The case was settled in 2017 and the records were sealed - leading to an appeal by Cernovich, who was later joined by the Miami Herald and several other parties including lawyer Alan Dershowitz - who seeks to clear his name in connection with Epstein's activities.
And while Democrats have suggested that the new evidence may implicate President Trump - who once called Epstein a "Terrific guy" who "likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side" (yet reportedly kicked the billionaire pedophile out of his Mar-a-Lago club for trying to recruit an underage girl) others are focusing on the Clintons.
A the NY Post detailed in 2016, Epstein and the Clintons are close.
Epstein has spent the bulk of his adult life cultivating relationships with the worlds most powerful men. Flight logs show that from 2001 to 2003, Bill Clinton flew on Epsteins private plane, dubbed The Lolita Express by the press, 26 times. After Epsteins arrest in July 2006, federal tax records show Epstein donated $25,000 to the Clinton Foundation that year.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's Superdelegate daughter Christine quipped on Twitter "It is quite likely that some of our faves are implicated but we must follow the facts and let the chips fall where they may."
    And what about Trump?
Following a 2018 financial settlement between Florida attorney Bradley Edwards - who represented one of Epstein's accusers, only to be later sued by Epstein, Edwards said that Donald Trump was the 'only person' who provided assistance when Edwards served subpoenas and notices to high-profile individuals connected to Epstein.
Edwards: The only thing that I can say about President Trump is that he is the only person who, in 2009 when I served a lot of subpoenas on a lot of people, or at least gave notice to some pretty connected people, that I want to talk to them, is the only person who picked up the phone and said, let’s just talk. I’ll give you as much time as you want. I’ll tell you what you need to know, and was very helpful, in the information that he gave, and gave no indication whatsoever that he was involved in anything untoward whatsoever, but had good information. That checked out and that helped us and we didn’t have to take a deposition of him in 2009.

Meanwhile, as we noted in 2017, opposition research firm Fusion GPS tried and failed to find evidence of a close relationship between then-candidate Donald Trump and billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, whose 'Lolita Express" private jet ferried powerful clients to his private island, "Little St. James."
While trying to tie Trump to Epstein in an attempt to push the narrative to at least two reporters, Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS - the firm behind the unsubstantiated "Trump-Russia" dossier, found that the Trump-Epstein link appears purely social, according to the Washington Times, which writes "Journalist sources told The Washington Times that Simpson pushed the idea of a close relationship between Mr. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein," adding "Ken Silverstein, the reporter who ultimately wrote an Epstein-Trump report, confirmed to The Times that Fusion had sourced the story."
Mr. Silverstein, who wrote the Vice.Com story, was asked by The Washington Times if Fusion pushed the Epstein-Trump story.
Since you asked, yes, they helped me with that, Mr. Silverstein said. But as you can see, I could not make a strong case for Trump being super close to Epstein, so they could hardly have been thrilled with that story. [In my humble opinion], that was the best story written about Trumps ties to Epstein, but I failed to nail him. Trumps ties were mild compared to Bill Clintons. -Washington Times
In January 2016, Vice.com ran Silverstein's story on Trump's ties to Epstein, which framed them as more social - including dinner parties, two plane trips, and Epstein hanging out at Trump's Mar-a-lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida. As Radar reported last April, "According to an investigation by Radar, Trump was among dozens of renowned New Yorkers who knew Epstein socially but ostracized him after Palm Beach police uncovered the financiers sleazy double life," adding that Trump "once barred child molester Jeffrey Epstein from his famed Mar-a-lago club after the presidential candidate caught him hitting on a young girl."

Jeffrey Epstein: Trump once praised billionaire charged with sex trafficking minors for liking women 'on the younger side'

    • In light of Jeffrey Epstein's reported Saturday night arrest on charges of sex trafficking minors, a quote from Donald Trump praising the billionaire's fondness for young women has re-surfaced.
    • Trump biographer Tim O'Brien tweeted the quote from a 2002 profile of Epstein in New York Magazine, in which Trump says "I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side."
    • Trump's association with Epstein extends into allegations that women were lured directly into sex trafficking from Mar-A-Lago, with one woman claiming Epstein's then-girlfriend recruited her for prostitution as a 15-year-old when she worked as a locker room attendant at Trump's resort that Epstein frequented.

After Jeffrey Epstein was reportedly arrested Saturday night on charges of sex trafficking of minors, links between the billionaire and President Donald Trump have emerged, including a 2002 quote from Trump that Epstein "likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side."

Trump biographer Tim O'Brien tweeted the quote on Saturday, which is from a New York Magazine profile of Epstein, which also includes Trump saying he knew Epstein for 15 years at that point, and calling him a "terrific guy" and "a lot of fun to be with."

Few photos exist of longtime friends Trump and Epstein together, but a 2000 photo of the two, Melania Trump, and Epstein's then-girlfriend and British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell show the four together at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

In 2017, Politico reported allegations that a woman who claims to have been a part of a sex trafficking ring run by Epstein was recruited directly from Mar-a-Lago in 1999 by Maxwell, where the woman, who was then 15-years-old, worked as a locker room attendant.

The 1999 accusations mirror the The Daily Beast's report of Epstein's Saturday night charges, which allege that Epstein's operation trafficked dozens of minors in New York and Florida between 2002 and 2005, according to three unnamed law enforcement sources.

Epstein is already a convicted sex offender, having allegedly molested dozens of underage girls in Florida before signing a 2008 secret plea agreement that allowed him to avoid federal prosecution and jail time. The plea deal, signed by federal judges that include Trump's current Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta, was ruled unconstitutional by a Palm Beach judge in February.

Epstein's alleged sexual exploitation entailed him coercing minors - such as the 1999 Mar-a-Lago locker room attendant - into giving him "massages," followed by him allegedly molesting or sexually abusing them in his Upper East Side or Palm Beach residences.

The alleged trafficking involved Epstein flying minors aboard his private 727 jet between the New York and Florida residences. Epstein, a money manager and philanthropist, has donated to the Clinton Foundation repeatedly and lent his jet to former President Bill Clinton for overseas trips.

Neither the Trump Organization nor the White House immediately responded to Business Insider's request for comment.

Jeffrey Epstein moved $46 million of assets to a foundation affiliated with the family of Les Wexner in 2008, months after he was indicted on charges of soliciting prostitution.

The YLK Charitable Fund was created toward the end of 2007, listing an Ohio address for Wexner’s property firm, the New Albany Co. The only officers listed were Wexner’s wife Abigail and a longtime employee of the property company.

A spokeswoman for Wexner’s L Brands Inc., the parent company of Victoria’s Secret, didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Wexner has said he severed ties with Epstein more than a decade ago.

In January 2008, the foundation received more than $46 million, mostly in Apple Inc. shares, from entities associated with Epstein -- the only contributions it reported that year, disclosures show. The assets came from Epstein’s Financial Trust Co. and a foundation associated with the financier. CNBC reported the transactions earlier Thursday.

At the end of 2010, after Epstein served 13 months in a Florida jail, YLK was liquidated and $33 million of assets were transferred to the Wexner Family Charitable Fund, according to a YLK filing.

MSNBC AIRS JEFFREY EPSTEIN, TRUMP MAR-A-LAGO PARTY FOOTAGE FROM 1992

BY BENJAMIN FEARNOW ON 7/17/19 AT 8:56 AM EDT

01:49Who Is Jeffery Epstein? Financier Charged With Sex Trafficking

SNBC aired archive footage Wednesday morning showing a newly divorced Donald Trump joking, laughing and dancing with Jeffrey Epstein at a 1992 party at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
Morning Joe host Mika Brzezinski narrated the footage broadcast Wednesday showing the New York City businessman schmoozing alongside Epstein, who years later would later would be forced to register as a sex offender and is currently accused of child sex trafficking. The November 1992 video tape was recorded by NBC producers for Faith Daniels' talk show, A Closer Look. The profile of Trump takes an inside look at his lavish lifestyle in the wake of his recent divorce from Ivana, and at one point, Trump can be seen pointing Epstein's attention toward a woman and saying, "she's hot."
Much of Trump's lengthy television career was affiliated with NBC. It is the same network which recorded Trump's infamous 2005 Access Hollywood tape in which he told host Billy Bush a series of lewd remarks about women in show business.
Earlier this month, Trump acknowledged knowing or having made acquaintance with Epstein, but he greatly diminished any specific interactions between the two billionaires. "Well I knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him," Trump told reporters from the Oval Office on July 9. "He was a fixture in Palm Beach I don't think I've spoken to him in 15 years. I wasn't a fan."
The footage was recorded more than ten years before Epstein would plead guilty to felony prostitution charges in Florida.
The video aired by MSNBC Wednesday shows Trump personally greeting Epstein as he arrives at the party, which featured cheerleaders from the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins NFL teams. "Come on in...Go inside," Trump tells Epstein.
Trump can be seen dancing with several of the cheerleaders in order to show off his newly divorced lifestyle for the NBC cameras, "you're going to get great ratings on your show," he can be heard saying.

A federal indictment against Epstein includes several sex trafficking charges involving "dozens of minors" in Florida and New York between 2002 and 2005.
Epstein's vast financier wealth also drew him into contact over the years with former President Bill Clinton, Harvard professor and Fox News figure Alan Dershowitz and Prince Andrew, Duke of York.
Speaking with New York Magazine in 2002, Trump took on a different tone when discussing his Mar-a-Lago acquaintance: "I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it – Jeffrey enjoys his social life."
But a Trump attorney earlier this month told The New York Times that the now-president denies ever having a friendship with Epstein.
Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough can be heard scoffing at Trump and Epstein's seemingly cozy interaction at the November 1992 party. Epstein at one point in the footage can be seen doubling over in laughter at something Trump says in his ear. Trump has previously referred to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida as his "Winter White House."
