Trump - Sessions Chairman of his Nat'l Security Advisory Committee

Trump Makes EPIC Addition To National Security Team… This Will Ruffle Feathers

Only days after Sen. Jeff Sessions endorsed him for president, GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump announced that he had chosen Sessions to be the chairman of his National Security Advisory Committee.

“It is an honor to have Jeff as a member of the team,” Trump wrote in a news brief released Thursday evening. “I have such great respect for him and I look forward to working with him on the issues most important to Americans.”

By choosing Sessions as his top security adviser, Trump sent a message to Americans that he takes their concerns regarding national security very seriously, as Sessions has a track record for putting the safety of our homeland above other less critical matters.

According to New York magazine, for instance, four months ago Sessions diligently attempted to persuade his colleagues to shut down the government over President Barack Obama’s plan to import 10,000 Syrian refugees into neighborhoods across America.

Trump also likely ruffled feathers among the GOP’s more neoconservative members, who disagree with Sessions’ belief that a hawkish stance toward the Middle East tends to hurt us rather than help us.

“It is time for a healthy dose of foreign policy realism,” Sessions stated in the news brief. “In the Middle East, this means forming partnerships based on shared interests, not merely overthrowing regimes in the dangerous attempt to plant democracies.”
“A national-interest foreign policy, combined with a military second to none, stands in contrast to interventionist ideas that could enmesh us further in the region’s chaos,” he added.

The Alabama senator also commented on the refugee crisis, echoing statements made by Trump in the past by arguing that we need to create “regional safe zones” in affected countries instead of funneling all their inhabitants to the West.

It seems like Trump made a terrific choice and selected someone who harbors the same principles as himself.

Hopefully, additional members of his committee — whom he plans to announce in the coming weeks — will be as intelligent and committed as Sessions.

I don't think our policies for the past seven years have worked out for anyone except the Iranians, Russians, ISIS and the members of ISIS who have hid themselves amongst the refugees for free entry into unsuspecting countries ( I am sure I am leaving a few more beneficiaries out).
