Tom DeLay: Trump Only Softening 'Way He Presents' Immigration Policy

    Thursday, August 25, 2016 09:07 PM
    By: Todd Beamon

Donald Trump has not been softening his positon on illegal immigration — he's just "trying to soften the way he presents it," former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay told Newsmax TV on Thursday.

"But he still talks about enforcing the law, being strong on the border, strong about security," DeLay, who was in the top Republican post from 2003 to 2005, told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth.

"I'd like him to mention sanctuary cities more, but we'll see in the next week or so if he's really changed," DeLay said. "He better not."
