Trump Tweets Another Call for Wall, Tearing Up of NAFTA

Trump Tweets Another Call for Wall, Tearing Up of NAFTA

    Days after
vowing to "close down our government" in order to push through funding for his controversial border wall, President Donald Trump reiterated Sunday his oft-repeated campaign promise to make Mexico "pay for it," hinting that may come with a rewrite of NAFTA.

President Trump's statements came via his favorite medium, morning Twitter tweets.

The tweet echoed statements he made to an Arizona rally Tuesday night, where he also vowed to renegotiate the North American Free

Trade Agreement, which he added was "one of the worst deals that anyone in history has ever been into."

President Trump's "Art of the Deal" strategy postulates deals are often best negotiated from a clean slate, suggesting he will tear up NAFTA entirely and write a new deal as opposed to modifying the existing one between the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

He echoed that sentiment in an ensuing tweet Sunday.

The juxtaposition of his Sunday tweets suggest he will be using NAFTA's reworking as a piece of having "Mexico pay for" the border wall on the Southwest of the United States.

Oh no, just terminate that blood-sucking NAFTA as soon as legally possible, we'll charge tariffs and use part of them to pay for the Wall.

Just a guess, but it probably isn't hurting a lot of American big business. If it had, it wouldn't have gotten passed. It's just the American taxpayer and consumer that is paying the price.

It hurt American Workers. It sucked our money supply out of the country. It punished many vendors who supply and service industrial manufacturing operations. And yes, it hurt our tax base because of the lack US generated business income and payrolls due to the loss of the factories and that whole domestic supply chain. It hurt all the companies that provided services and sold products to those workers.

We all know how it hurt America, Americans, and American workers.

Again, big business is doing fine. It did hurt smaller businesses, but as a result, big corporations are only getting bigger and wealthier. That's why I'm wondering why they aren't screaming.

It allowed them to move a facility to Mexico, they could then bring Mexican workers to this country to work.

Our government paid Mexican land owners NOT to grow crops that competed with our big agribusiness - specifically grain. It has hurt a lot of those who grow vegetables since we get so many from Mexico now. Local gardeners once sold a lot of produce to the local grocery stores - now they would have to compete with Mexican produce, and stores just don't buy locally much anymore.

One of the good things they touted, promised, supposed that would come out of NAFTA was their economy would get so great with all the jobs, the illegals would stop coming.

Again, we see how it hurt Americans, but it hasn't seem to hurt big business.

It was done for big business, large multi-national corporations. That is who NAFTA and all these treasonous trade deals served, but it back-fired on them, many see that now, destroying the wages in the US, their largest market by moving their manufacturing operations to third world hell holes hurt them in the end, because the United States was their biggest highest-priced most profitable market.

I'm not sure it has hurt them really. They are bigger and more wealthy, and powerful than ever.

Americans continued to buy their products. There was no choice. In fact, so much of it is so poorly made, necessitating replacing it in a short period of time, they are doing quite well. They can now sell 3 of an item in 10 years where they used to only sell one.

So again, why aren't they screaming.

Our manufacturing companies are not doing well, they're in a third world race to the bottom.
