Lots of things can happen in a couple of months. I am not going to lose hope even if the words are unclear right now and even though we know how games are played in Washington. In the House, Paul Ryan and his fellow gang of many pushing for amnesty are the real threats in the days ahead. Almost every group of people and many individuals that the President Elect meets with these days want amnesty and more immigration. Most people on his transition team, nominated to his cabinet, probably desire some type of amnesty.

And you shouldn't lose hope, however, we have to take what is being said seriously and it certainly sounds like Trump is going to give amnesty to the DACA illegals. I, for one, will be extremely upset if that happens. However, if Trump does give them amnesty, he must not allow them to sponsor their parents and other relatives for legal immigration! Their parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents, etc., must go if they are here illegally and they must not be allowed to return under the sponsorship of their once illegal alien child! Chain migration must end.

THEY ALL HAVE TO GO!! This stupid idea of governing through the children is for WEAK, STUPID BABIES. Forget the fact that they were "children" once. You can bet your butts they aren't "children" now. They're all grown, big mouth, bold people who think they're above the law because they're "special" for entering our country in violation of US law. They were illegal then, they are illegal now and they were illegal every day and minute in between.

We need to keep up with legislation in Congress and be active in opposition as the other side is in support with their emails, phone calls, visits to lawmakers, postcard and photo campaigns, etc. I saw a video of an illegal alien granted DACA walking beside General Kelly recently, the nominee for Homeland Security, telling him why she is an asset for America and why she should be able to stay.

The Bridge Act and other legislation needs to have us emailing and calling to say, "No."

Well the Dreamers are really confused and fighting amongst themselves. I love reading their blogs. Now most Dreamers think Trump is going to give them some sort of amnesty. They actually believe they have a better chance with Trump then they would have had with Hillary. The fight amongst them are that some think they should take whatever Trump gives them and later fight for more while others think they should demand amnesty for their families. Some are afraid that Dem's are going to screw up by demanding everything and end up getting nothing. They all of a sudden like Fox News and hate Univision. They are actually aware that pro-immigration groups have their own agenda. They are calling for all 800,000 Dreamers to start calling their reps. and Trump and Ryan to make their demands. They really are convinced that they are not going to be deported.

I myself am really sick and tired of hearing about these poor kids that are here by no fault of their own. I still say if we were to charge all the parents with child endangerment and abuse and hold them accountable then and only then would we be able to stop illegal alien parents from hiding behind their children. If we don't then every other state is going to end up like California.

Trump didn't campaign on this. If there is any DACA deal, it should or must include things such as nationwide E-Verify, 287(g), work site enforcement such as we saw at the end of GWB's administration, chain migration reform and lottery cuts etc. (not just lofty rhetoric about "the wall" and who will pay for it), in place before the amnesty -- if Trump is sincere in stopping illegal immigration. If not, this will be a redux of the 1986 amnesty and the cycle of illegality will continue.

Both Democrats and Republicans who want this DACA amnesty will want as many of the illegal aliens to stay as is possible and cry that family members who are illegal must remain for some reason. The DACA receipients have illegal alien relatives who are dependent on them, etc. Democrats must have the voters.

Totally agree Motivated. It must end now, all of it. NO AMNESTY. NO LEGAL STATUS. NO WORK PERMITS. DEPORT. DEPORT. DEPORT. Until every last one of them and all their minor children are removed from our sovereign jurisdiction.

The key to observing what Trump will do about illegal immigration is the deportation of illegals. This is the gold standard of what he is going to do about the rest. If he will not step up policing and enforcing against illegal immigrants, then it won't matter what he does anywhere else. If he will not enforce against the simple presence of illegal immigrants, the Wall won't matter and whether or not he grants any kind of amnesty or not will not matter.

Enforcing against illegal immigrants is really the only thing that needs to be done to solve the problem of illegal immigrants. Any beneficiaries of any largess from the president towards illegals or any of their descendants will be properly intimidated by enforcement of the rest and this should be part of the purpose of such enforcement. This is why Reagan's amnesty was such a failure and this is why "amnesty" has come to mean what it now means, "open borders".

It could be very worthwhile to create marginal exceptions to enforcement in order to lull reaction once enforcement steps up. But if enforcement does not step up, then indeed, Trump has sold us out and needs to suffer the consequences. We need to remember the last amnesty we saw for illegals was a Republican amnesty.

Exactly, pkskyali. It's all about the deportations. If they're all deported none of the rest of it really matters and if they stay the rest of it doesn't matter a hill of beans as much as most people hope it does, it doesn't. You have to understand how laws are irrelevant with cheats and thieves. Laws only matter and work with those who abide them.

The single most important step to ending illegal immigration once and for all is: DEPORTATION OF EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. NO MERCY. NO EXCEPTIONS.
