Trump's Day 1 Promises: already breaking them?

NOTE: these are just his "Day 1 Immediate Plans" ... His more comprehensive plans are outlined in the links below:

    ***

*Move criminal aliens out day one, in joint operations with local, state, and federal law enforcement. We will terminate the Obama administration’s deadly, non-enforcement policies that allow thousands of criminal aliens to freely roam our streets.

*Immediately terminate President Obama’s two illegal executive amnesties. All immigration laws will be enforced - we will triple the number of ICE agents. Anyone who enters the U.S. illegally is subject to deportation. That is what it means to have laws and to have a country.

*On day one, we will begin working on an impenetrable physical wall on the southern border. We will use the best technology, including above-and below-ground sensors, towers, aerial surveillance and manpower to supplement the wall, find and dislocate tunnels, and keep out the criminal cartels, and Mexico will pay for the wall.

*On my first day in office, I am also going to ask Congress to pass “Kate’s Law” – named for Kate Steinle – to ensure that criminal aliens convicted of illegal reentry face receive strong mandatory minimum sentences.

*As soon as I enter office, I am going to ask the Department of State, Homeland Security and the Department of Justice to begin a comprehensive review of these cases in order to develop a list of regions and countries from which immigration must be suspended until proven and effective vetting mechanisms can be put into place.

Sounds great!! Need confirmation of Sessions and Tillerson to move forward on some of them. Hurry Up Senate. You've dropped the ball and are interfering with Trump's ability to deliver results fast especially those he wanted to do on Day One.

Stop the politics and get down to the people's work. You support this President every step of the way so we can enjoy the benefits and results sooner rather than later. Everyone is a nervous wreck waiting on you people to do your jobs.

NOW DO THEM. AND DO THEM FAST. We don't want dawdling and game playing. You keep your personal views and opines out of our arena. We aren't interested. If you all knew what to do, you would have already done it. You haven't done it so you obviously don't know how or what to do. Trump does. So sit down and wait for orders, then you jump on it and GET R DONE.

Based on what Trump's Chief of Staff said this weekend about DACA and what Trump himself has recently stated, it looks like Trump might or is planning at this time to clearly break his promise by supporting some form of amnesty in the near future. Here is what he said on August 31, 2016 in Phoenix:

"For those here today illegally who are seeking legal status, they will have one route and only one route: to return home and apply for re-entry under the rules of the new legal immigration system that I have outlined above. Those who have left to seek entry under this new system will not be awarded surplus visas, but will have to enter under the immigration caps or limits that will be established.
We will break the cycle of amnesty and illegal immigration. There will be no amnesty.
Our message to the world will be this: you cannot obtain legal status, or become a citizen of the United States, by illegally entering our country."

I don't think people are drawing the correct conclusions from the statements. We'll see. But we need to make sure Trump knows that we want NO DEAL on DACA. We want all illegal aliens out of the country. All of them. The easy way on their own or the hard way through deportation. Makes no difference, either way, they have to go!

THEY ALL GOTTA GO!! ALL OF THEM, no child or grandpa left behind. Period.

Sean Spicer said in press conference today that there will be more news on DACA later this week, because President wants to see what legislation Congress is proposing on DACA.

I think we need to lobby hard and make sure Trump knows we want DACA wiped off the face of the Earth.

    NO DEAL ON DACA!

We need fight this in Congress. Trump is either going to rescind DACA or let it expire. He will not renew it. However, while I would hope he would veto any bill that provides legal status to illegal aliens, you never know with the pressure from Congress, so we need an all out bombardment of Congress with phone calls and faxes. Hopefully NumbersUSA is working on a fax blitz on this.

Trump needs to rescind all Obama immigration Executive Orders and we need to shut DACA and all other amnesty programs down through our lobbying efforts.

NO DEAL ON DACA. These are not "children". They're grown adults with their own children. Oh my God. What a frigging mess you have made DemoQuacks. You totally disgust me.

    NO AMNESTY

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.

From everything we're seeing so far, it is a certainty that the news will not be good for us. Sure, the DACA illegals may be happy, but we here at ALIPAC won't be.

I just read on another thread that the federal government is still accepting new DACA application. Trump could stop that with the simple scribble of a pen, but has chosen not to do so.

They were averaging at USCIS around 160 new DACA applications a day and close to 700 DACA renewals a day. No mention of discontinuing the executive amnesties as promised.

I think Trump is waiting to get his Cabinet confirmed by the Senate first. I would want a review of this by Sessions before I signed it if I were Trump, especially considering the way the court ruling was worded and referencing the DOJ to be involved to rescind it for those already signed up. If it's allowed to expire, then there won't be any lawsuits, if he rescinds it now without DOJ approval, they could use that to file suits, but would not be able to sue if it expires on its own.

So long as they are taking applications but not acting on them, it doesn't matter. The whole thing will expire on its own in June.

I don't think Trump is going to let US down on this. He doesn't want it. He said so many times. But how best to do it would not be before Sessions is in place as AG and Trump, Sessions and Kelly meet and decide a) rescind or b) expire.

Either way he handles it doesn't have any impact on legislation. The Democrats in the Senate have already introduced new legislation which will have to be defeated either by the Senate or by the House or vetoed by Trump. Hopefully the House will kill it. Senate will probably pass it, they're in love with amnesty in any form, so it ill be up to the House.
