    Trump's finest hour

    September 4, 2016
    By Bill Weckesser

It was, perhaps, his finest hour. In soaring, Churchillian prose, Donald Trump addressed a black church in Detroit on Saturday.

For centuries the African American church has been the conscience of our country. It's from the pews and pulpits and Christian teachings of black churches all across this land that the civil rights movement lifted its soul and lifted up the soul of the nation. It's from these pews that our nation has been inspired toward a better moral character, a deeper concern for mankind, and a spirit of charity and unity that binds us all together.

The African American faith community has been one [of] God's greatest gifts to America and to its people. There is perhaps no action our leaders can take that would do more to heal our country and support our people than to provide a greater platform to the black churches and churchgoers. You do right everyday by your community and your families. You raise children in the light of God. I will always support your church and defend your right to worship.

I am here today to listen to your message. And I hope my presence here will help your voice to reach new audiences in our country. And many of these audiences desperately need your spirit and your thought. Christian faith is not the past, but the present and the future. Make it stronger.

Great Faith Ministries International sent written invitations to both Trump and Clinton. He responded. He was there. As he was there in Louisiana. His message was sincere, solemn, and sober. He talked about driving with Bishop Wayne T. Jackson past boarded up businesses, affirming, "I want to help you build and rebuild Detroit. And we can do that, especially with people like Bishop and Dr. Jackson."

Win or lose, it's to Trump's credit that he's boldly going where neither Romney nor McCain had gone before. My hunch – it will pay dividends. Notice the pushback from the mainstream-never-Trump-Democrat coalition.

There was also a visit to Dr. Ben Carson's childhood home in Detroit and another drive through that area.

He's also heading to Flint...maybe on his journey to the White House.

It was just a great day for him and these people in Detroit! I just wish he could have had a YUUUGE RALLY so more people from Detroit could meet and hear him. Maybe soon this will happen. I hope so!

Assuming that this country CAM get back on its feet, and reverse the inexorable downward slide, new industries are going to INSIST on a high level of automation. It will need workers who can navigate those technologies. The alternative might be heavy, labor intensive work like construction projects. A lot of the work ethic has been drummed out of blacks, I am very sorry to opine.

And so far, the general Republican leadership is, as often the case, clueless on what types of industries could actually propel an American revival. Sure... oil and gas, but this only goes so far. I just read about a new solar technology where they might be able to generate nearly all of a large building's energy demands just from the windows. There is a lot of research going on around the world---the US and Europe are not the only centers. When we think of globalization OF COURSE it includes R & D these days. Despite patents it doesn't take long for any new technology to be copied or simulated, or just pirated. A US revitalization has to stay ahead of these factors. Lamenting of days gone by will not cut it. And then, getting rid of the international moochers and parasites will be no easy task either.

Not really. There's a % I'm sure same as with all groups, but black Americans have always been ready and willing and very capable of doing whatever was asked of them at a job that paid good wages. All Americans are hard workers and smart capable workers. But when there are no jobs, and years go by, you lose your steam, you lose your energy, motivation, your internal clock slows down to cope with the idleness. It takes a little readjustment to get back to work, it takes a leader to motivate, to inspire, to speed up that clock, a leader like Trump who is such a hard-worker himself. Watching Obama play golf more than he works even while California burns, Louisiana floods, borders are over-run, ports invaded, our communities terrorized, our economy diving, poverty and crime rising, is not that type of inspiration.

Obama saw this Presidency as being about him, instead of our country. He spent his life preparing to be a cool dude, unfortunately he didn't do anything to prepare himself to be a good President. He doesn't know anything about business because he's never been a part of business. He doesn't know anything about our economy because his own livelihood never depended upon the economy. He's never been an employee, so he doesn't understand anything about jobs. America elected a know-nothing, done-nothing, because he was a good speaker so long as he had a speech written for him or a talking points memo, and he was a Cool Dude.

And he's hen-pecked to boot!! He couldn't go to Louisiana because Michelle doesn't like it when he has to work during their family vacations. Can you believe he actually said this??!!

Well, let me tell you, Donald Trump will never not be somewhere he needs to be because of a family vacation or because his wife didn't want him to go. And you can take that to the bank every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

    VOTE FOR INSPIRATION!!

    VOTE FOR A LEADER!!

VOTE FOR DONALD J TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!!
