A Dallas-based commentator posted a tweet that called the Black Lives Matter movement "the new KKK" soon after the Dallas ambush, but she then deleted it.

Tomi Lahren, who works for Glenn Beck's conservative site The Blaze, posted the tweet after five officers were fatally shot and several other people were wounded Thursday night in downtown Dallas.
The ambush occurred during a protest sparked by the fatal police shootings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota.
Lahren has been in the spotlight before for her commentary, like condemning Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime performance.
The tweet she posted last week and then deleted said "Meet the new KKK, they call themselves "Black Lives Matter" but make no mistake their goals are far from equality. #Dallas #bluelivesmatter"
David Zurawik, a media critic at the Baltimore Sun, told Lahren when they both appeared on CNN that she'd gone too far.

Lahren said that's his opinion.
"I wish it was your employer's opinion," Zurawik said. "That's really reckless, that kind of tweet at the situation we're in. As a journalist, what you did appalls me. That's the end of it. I'm trying to be civil about this."
Lahren said she's not a journalist, she's a commentator.
"I'm allowed to have my feelings and my opinions, and I stand behind the things that I say," Lahren said.
But Zurawik said that shouldn't be the case.
"There's no room for the kind of ignorance that your tweet put out there at this time in our history," he said.
