Last year was a record-setting year that saw more than 1.7 million encounters; agents had made approximately 1.2 million encounters at this time.
The number of migrant encounters at the southern border this fiscal year has now exceeded two million, a milestone not hit before at the border, CBP sources tell Fox News — a number that marks a new record.

These numbers represent a glaring sign of the enormous and ongoing crisis facing agents, officials, and communities at the border. But unfortunately, this newest development caught on video demonstrates a stark contrast between Texas authorities and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), revealing an entirely different struggle.
Texas National Guard locked a border gate on Wednesday at a major crossing area in Eagle Pass, Texas. Fox News witnessed members of the guard close and lock the gate, which is situated on private property and had previously been open, to deny entry to migrants who had crossed illegally and were expecting to be allowed into the United States.

The illegal immigrants were then seen standing outside the gate waiting to be allowed in, with the Texas National Guard watching.
Biden’s Border Patrol agents immediately appeared with a key and unlocked the gate, allowing the illegal aliens to get through and stream further into the United States.

Border Patrol opening gates etc to allow migrants in is not new. They have to process migrants on U.S. soil per federal law. What’s new is TX is now closing the gate & denying entry at this major crossing location. Always open in months past, including this video I shot in May.
