Freaking Chamber of Commerce creeps me out .......They are claiming that the number of jobs outsourced is relatively few?? Of course they are not considering the total impact it has -- industry wide wage depression. Or, how it has ruined entire communities, because every business in some of these towns depends one way or another on the factory and its employees. Not to mention lost tax revenue from the employees and the company in some cases. He claimed that we gain "technical advantages" from outsourcing. What the hell is he talking about? Americans are one of the most, if not the most technically skilled workforce. And yes, we save in the prices of good and services, but VERY little, the money saved almost exclusively goes to pad the pockets of corporate CEOs. And when you factor in how these "low prices" are off-set by wage depression we save nothing. He also claims that bringing these jobs back "will not stimulate the economy," which is absolute bull sh*t. If quality paying manufacturing and IT jobs returned, people would be making MORE money, which means they would SPEND more money, which STIMULATES businesses and the economy.
Oh, and he opposes the legislation that would give tax credits to businesses that stay here.....And his solution is to let businesses continue to outsource, and give them tax breaks anyway!!! Un-freaking-believable.
Freaking lobbyists make me sick......Serve Bush with his letter of resignation.
See you at the signing!!
