U.S. Chamber of Commerce lies by omission over threatened border closing!

See: One Way to Tank Markets and the U.S. Economy? Close the Border with Mexico.

    3/29/19

“While the whole country stands to lose from even a short-term closure of the U.S.-Mexico frontier, no group stands to lose more than U.S. border communities like Brownsville, McAllen, Laredo, El Paso and San Diego, for which economic and social ties to Mexico are essential. According to the Laredo Chamber of Commerce, an average of 16,000 trucks and 1,400 rail cars crossed the city’s border each day as the Port of Laredo alone handled more than 50% of U.S.-Mexico bilateral goods traded in 2017.

The article goes on to point out The San Ysidro border crossing in San Diego County is the busiest passenger land port in the Western Hemisphere, processing 120,000 commuter vehicles and 63,000 pedestrians each day. So many area residents cross the border daily to work, shop, or attend school that the San Ysidro Chamber of Commerce estimates that the local economy suffered lost revenues of $5.3 million just in the five-hour period the border was closed last November.”

What the Chamber of Commerce omits from its figures is the daily and devastating financial and social costs inflicted upon American citizens throughout the United States from illegal border crossings, and fraudulent asylum seekers who have left Central America to escape poverty which is not a lawful reason to seek asylum.

The cost to American Citizens is staggering! In a Washington Examiner ARTICLE published before the Central American caravan explosions into the United States, it announced “… the five-year price tag at $8.8 billion in federal and state costs, or nearly $80,000 per refugee. There are some 18 federal and state programs refugees can tap for financial help, including food stamps, child care, public housing and school loans.

On a yearly average, it is $1.8 billion, or $15,900 per refugee. Included in that are enormous refugee resettlement costs such as $867 million in welfare, housing assistance and education.”

Keep in mind these figures do not take into account the added devastating social costs such as crime, the overburdening of local emergency rooms, and the inability of local schools to handle the flood of children of illegal entrants and fraudulent asylum seekers.

So, while the Chamber of Commerce whines about a short term financial loss in economic activity between Mexico and the United States if President Trump closes down the border ___ an act which would undoubtedly bring the Mexican Government to its senses and encourage it to stop the flood of Central Americans from entering their country on their way to reach the United States ___ the callus scum at the Chamber of Commerce ignores the devastating social and financial impact inflicted upon American citizens across the United States due to an uncontrolled border, and likewise ignore Mexico’s unwillingness to stop the flood of Central American fraudulent asylum seekers who really are trying to escape poverty caused by their own corrupted governments.

Anyone who does not support President Trump closing down the border which would bring Mexico’s government to its senses and encourage it to help end the invasion of the United States by those wanting to escape poverty, ought to be viewed as highly suspicious for not supporting the President, and highly suspicious for not supporting an abrupt solution to end to this ongoing invasion of America’s border. And this includes federal judges and Justices who may ignore a fundamental principal of survival . . . no law can be justified if it operates as a suicide pact on the nation.

There is no surer way to weaken, subdue, demoralize and then conquer a prosperous and freedom loving people than by allowing and encouraging the poverty stricken, poorly educated, low-skilled, criminal and diseased populations of other countries to invade that country, and make the country’s existing citizens tax-slaves to support the economic needs of such invaders.

    massive caravan forming in honduras

See 'Mother of all migrant caravans' forming in Honduras as Trump threatens again to shut US-Mexico border

”Mexico’s interior minister has warned that “the mother of all migrant caravans” is gathering in Hondur as, as President Donald Trump again threatened to seal the US-Mexican border.

Olga Sanchez-Cordero said the caravan, forming in the Central American nation, was 20,000-strong. Another caravan of roughly 2,500 migrants is currently heading north.”

Why on earth is the Democrat Party Leadership refusing to pass emergency legislation to halt illegal border crossings and immediately deal with fraudulent asylum seekers?

Why is the Democrat Party Leadership determined to fill our country with the poverty stricken, poorly educated, low skilled, disease carrying and criminal populations of other countries? Do they not care about the devastating social and financial consequences of this ongoing invasion, and especially how it mostly affects our poorer communities?

American citizens are sick and tired of being made into tax-slaves to finance a maternity ward for the poverty stricken populations of other countries who invade America’s borders to give birth.

Why is the Republican Party Leadership and all the R's not introducing bills to halt this invasion? Where are the R's? Can't they find a microphone anywhere to get in front of?

Why did the R's not do anything at all when they had the House, Senate, and the WH?

Yelling at the D's will not help, they are a lost cause. I think it would be better to yell at the R's, who I did vote for, and who are not doing their job. Maybe, if enough of us started yelling at the R's they would do something.

In support Trump's temporary shutdown of the southern border of the United States

    .

If one is really concerned about the general welfare of the United States and her citizens, then you would be very concerned with the devastating social and economic impact which illegal immigration has had, and is having upon the good citizens of the United States.

Additionally, you would instantly realize how the Mexican Government is aiding in the importation of Central America’s poverty, crime and diseases into the United States. And if you love the United States you would not hesitate in making a sacrifice in defending her borders against an ongoing invasion.

I can assure those who may question a temporary shutdown of our southern border to get the attention and cooperation of Mexico’s government, that our forefathers suffered far greater losses freeing itself from King George than we would experience from a temporary shutdown. Let us at least acknowledge that enjoying the benefits of living in the United States is not always free, and sometimes sacrifices must be made to defend the United States and her way of life.

I am 100 percent convinced that closing our southern border would encourage Mexico's new President, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, to instantly end Mexico’s current assistance in the transportation and caring of Central America’s poverty stricken population as it passes through Mexico on its way to the United States. Good trading partners help each other in times of need. But sometimes they have to be encouraged to do so. The short term effects on the United States in closing down the border is miniscule in relation to the long term gain.

To stand by and watch, for 35 years, our border not being defended, and for our President to witness the current explosion of tens of thousands of migrants flooding across our border each month and not take immediate action to instantly stop such an invasion, would be paramount to assisting in such an invasion as the President of Mexico is now doing.

I applauded President Trump’s decision to close down the border which will actually encourage Mexico to end its assistance to Central American caravans wanting to invade the United States.

To those who reject a temporary closedown of the United States southern border to deal with the ongoing invasion, please feel free to offer your solution to stop these caravans in their tracks.

American citizens are sick and tired of being made into tax-slaves to finance the economic needs of millions of poverty stricken, poorly educated, low skilled, disease carrying and criminal aliens who have invaded America’s borders.

I have a solution to "stop them in their tracks"!

    Shut it down.

Load up barges, it will fit thousands, and send them back now!

Load the Mexicans on separate barges and return them to the VERY southern border of Mexico!

NO MORE DUMPING THEM IN OUR COMMUNITIES TO PAY FOR!

Yet that is exactly what our President has done for 2 years, and is still doing.

I am all for the Border being shut down, all 1900+ miles of it, not just a few lanes and send BP to speed up the processing of the invaders as they pour through.

I am sick of the lies, the empty threats, the half measures, the political stunts.

If he was serious, he would have done this earlier, instead of having BP go around the fence to help them through.

If he is serious, instead of shutting down a few lanes, he will use 212f

The language of the relevant statute (section 212(f) of the INA) is as clear as can be:
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or non immigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

Trump can halt all immigration and cross-border commerce for any reason if he determines it’s in the national interest.

It seems Trump is more worried about profits than the invasion of our country.

Trump said Friday: “I’ll just close the border, and with a deficit like we have with Mexico and have had for many years, closing the border will be a profit-making operation.”

It seems you are letting Republicans in Congress off the hook. Maybe if they wouldn't turn against the President and join the Democrat Leadership in condemning closing down the border, Trump would have done so long ago.

It's a complicated issue but I think Trump is actually trying to deal with the invasion of our border . . . maybe not as I would do, but is trying!

Yes. Trump is right. And Mexico would suffer the lost, which is what Trump is really saying. He is trying to be diplomatic about it and point out it is in Mexico's best interest to immediately stop assisting in the care and transportation of these caravans from Central America.

Let's see how this plays out and then talk. For now, let us show our support for President Trump shutting down the border if Mexico continues to give aid to these caravans.
