UFW pushing AgJOBS, asking supporters to call Senators.

We have to be always vigilant with the Cheap Labor groups, trying to push the AgJOBS bill.

Message from the United Farm Workers:

Tell your senators to read Washington Post’s editorial supporting AgJOBS

The UFW has been hard at work with a coalition of organizations including the Farmworker Justice Fund and major agribusiness groups to persuade the Washington Post to take a stand on AgJOBS. We are extremely pleased that the Washington Post--a moderate paper with the most influential editorial page on Congressional matters--published a strongly-worded editorial urging Congress to pass AgJOBS: Rot in the Fields - As farmworkers become scarcer, Congress dithers (click to read).
Please read the above article and then e-mail your senators and ask them to read it, too. Tell them it’s time for them to take a stand on this vital issue by making sure AgJOBS passes as soon as possible.
Farm workers' daily labor feeds this nation. They do the hardest, most difficult jobs that others won't do. Yet they are faced with fear and intimidation because many employers use the threat of deportation to ensure their silence. AgJOBS is a bipartisan, earned legalization program that was negotiated by the United Farm Workers and the agricultural industry. It is critically important because it would provide America with a stable farm labor force and help ensure that farm workers are treated fairly. The status quo is not acceptable. It’s bad for farmers, bad for farm workers and bad for the nation.

By sending your senator a message, you can help undocumented farm workers come out of the shadows and fight this cycle of oppression.
    TAKE ACTION TODAY!
