This thread has 500+ views. If that many people called their Senators, it would make a big impact, instead of just being lookey-loos.

Brown: UN Gun Control Treaty Will Kill Second Amendment

By Floyd and Mary Beth Brown July 23, 2012 12:00 pm

"Representatives from many of the world's socialist, tyrannical and dictatorial regimes [are gathering] at the United Nations headquarters in New York for a month-long meeting, in which they'll put the finishing touches on an international Arms Trade Treaty that could seriously restrict your freedom to own, purchase and carry a firearm," warns Chris Cox, the executive director of the NRA's Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA).

It's happening right now. The member states of the United Nations have been meeting, behind closed doors with Hillary Clinton, since July 2nd to hammer out the final details on their so-called Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) and Barack Obama, has vowed to sign it on July 27th.

If you're not worried, you should be. Cox goes on to say: "You might think that something so obviously menacing to one of our enumerated fundamental rights would receive a strong rebuke from our top government leaders. But you'd be wrong. This is President Barack Obama's vision for America, and we're expected to just go along with it."

Make no mistake, your constitutional and God-given right to keep and bear arms may forever be regulated and controlled by thugs within the United Nations.

As a matter of policy, President George W. Bush not only opposed the ATT, but also proclaimed that the United States would have no involvement with the planning or implementation of the ATT. He wanted no part of this treasonous treaty.

As Bloomberg news reported, under the Bush Administration, the United States "was the only nation to oppose the 2006 resolution to create an international treaty on the sale of small arms and light weapons, and subsequent measures to continue the talks."

But the times, they are a changing. Instead of following President Bush's example and saying, from the get-go, that this voluntary surrender of our constitutional rights will ever see the light of day; Senate Republicans are taking more of a 'let's-wait-and-see-what-the-UN-comes-up-with' approach.

And while Republicans procrastinate, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are legitimizing and actively negotiating something that is illegitimate, a treaty the United States should never be negotiating in the first place.
Make no mistake, our elected officials like to talk tough. As a matter of fact, a number of Senators penned a strongly worded letter on ATT to Barack Obama last year, and they even went so far as to say that they would "oppose ratification of an Arms Trade Treaty presented to the Senate that in any way restricts the rights of law-abiding citizens to manufacture, assemble, possess, transfer or purchase firearms, ammunition and related items."

Don't be lulled into complacency by the tough-sounding rhetoric. Words are cheap and anyone who knows how the UN operates knows that its S.O.P. is deception. The ATT will, without a doubt, contain written promises and grandiose assurances and the UN will assure far too many Senate Republicans that the ATT will in no way restrict your right to legally own a firearm.

Once the ATT is signed and ratified our own government, under the supervision of the thugs of the United Nations, will start to "regulate" and, soon thereafter, start to "confiscate." Don't take our word for it.

Former UN ambassador John Bolton, says that the UN "is trying to act as though this is really just a treaty about international arms trade between nation states, but there is no doubt that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control."

National Gun Registry Imminent – Fight the UN Small Arms Treaty ATT

    by Administrator on

    July 22, 2012

This coming week the UN is set to meet to agree on an international arms treaty on “small arms,” called the ATT. The treaty was engineered by Hillary Clinton, and is the second shot from the Obama White House to covertly take our 2nd Amendment rights away through indirect means.

The first was of course the “Fast & Furious” program that walked guns into Mexico in hopes that our gun freedom, and gun dealers, would be blamed for spilled blood across the border. Thankfully that one failed thanks to a brave whistleblower, but this one is even more serious.
You need to immediately contact your Senators for your state. The Senate, not the House of Representatives, ratifies international treaties. This link gives you the phone numbers and a link to the web form for the Senators themselves:

Wayne Lapierre make the perfect point here about the ATT. Even if your wishy washy liberal Senator is going to vote for the fool thing, at least contact him or her and get the civilian guns taken out. This could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back and bring a genuine revolution to the streets of America. No matter which way you lean politically, the ATT is good for nobody.

    U.S. Senate: Senators Home
Conservative commentator Dick Morris has been one of the lead whistleblowers on this issue. He explains on the video we have embedded here that the small arms treaty will carry the force of a constitutional amendment once it is ratified by the Senate and signed by the President. The treaty will prohibit the export of all small arms. You may not feel strongly about this issue, because you have no plan to ever export any of your guns. But like everything else we’ve seen from this administration, this is a platform for a sneaky and underhanded way to register and eventually take away our guns.
The catch of this agreement not to export guns is that the White House, through the BATFE, could decide that in order to prevent guns from being exported, all the guns in the US need to be inventoried and registered, so that the government can make good on their promise not to export. So with no law, no congressional oversight, no debate, no conditions, the Federal Government could simply mandate that all firearms become registered. We know from history, whether it be Nazi Germany, Communist China, Pol Pot’s Cambodia, Stalinist Russia, and every other murderous dictatorship, that the first step in taking weapons is inventorying and registering them.
The NRA has been anything but silent on this issue. The ATT has been a topic of discussion in the NRA print pubs for years, and Wayne Lapierre recently gave a speech at the UN, (video embedded here) commenting on the treaty. His take is that the only way the ATT can become compliant with American gun ownership values and the 2nd Amendment is to completely remove all talk of civilian firearms from the treaty. Until 2009 the US was officially against the ATT. Obama opened the door, and here it is on our doorstep today. You must voice your opinion on this to your Senators today, whether you advise them to not vote for the treaty, or even, if your Senator is a wishy washy liberal, to at least remove the civilian guns from the entire ATT itself.
Whether you are one of those people who answer every call to action regarding the 2nd Amendment or if you have never written or called a representative in your life, the TIME TO STAND UP IS NOW. The government has taken away our freedoms from us by stuffing FDA, EPA, OSHA, and even ridiculous hunting regulations down our throats. The one freedom that guarantees all of our other freedoms is the right to keep and bear arms. The 2nd Amendment shall not be infringed. Please take a tiny part of your day today and let yourself be heard. The future of freedom in America depends on you.

Obama Could Nullify The 2nd Amendment

Posted by Michael CHILDS, Admin II
July 24, 2012 at 12:19am in Patriot Action Alerts

When POTUS signs the UN's Small Arms Trade Treaty late in July, the pen to paper of his signature alone could be just enough to nullify the 2nd Amendment rights of the American people.

How is this possible if a 2/3rds vote by the Senate—that is, constitutionally mandated ratification– is required before the United States may become a legal party to any treaty?

if they want to stop guns crossing the border or coming in from across the borders that is fine. Just keep the UN away from the United States. None of their d…… business.
Interested Americans have been told that the Arms Trade Treaty will regulate the international trade of conventional weapons, the purported goal being prevention of arms transfers to rogue or terrorist states. Naturally, one would think regulations intended only to manage and restrict the trade of weapons to dangerous, warlike or terror-supporting countries couldn’t possibly threaten the constitutionally protected right of American citizens to keep and bear arms.

However, in order to prevent the accumulation and export of possible contraband weapons, the Treaty mandates creation of a global arms catalogue– an international registry detailing the existence, history and ownership records of all conventional weapons.

Every sale, every transfer of a weapon within the borders of the United States would be contained in this registry. The left have dreamed of such a national gun registry for decades and this would give it to them.

If Obama, the usurper, the son of perdition, signs this treaty, it will NOT be the law of this land, as it will be hard for him to lawfully supersede the Constitution of the United States of America.

He will have a horrible revolution, of some sort and I will be part of it.

Until we, the citizens of the United States of America, are prepared to demand liberty, or death, we will have our Constitutional rights stripped away, one by one, in rampant disrespect of our forefathers and those that have fought and died defending our great nation. I have never served in our official armed services, but I I’ll defend liberty and the constitution, to the end. We, the people should be ashamed. Obama is a disgrace.

How could the gun-grabbing Obama Regime impose this clearly anti-2nd Amendment, Treaty-mandated arms registration scheme on the American people without the Senate first giving its advice and consent?

“When a nation signs a treaty it is obligated to refrain from actions that would defeat the object and purpose of the treaty until such time as it makes clear its intent not to become a party to the treaty.” (1) This is language from Article 18 of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties. Adopted in 1969, 111 nations have ratified the Vienna Convention, a treaty which has become known as the “Treaty of Treaties” and is “…widely recognized as the authoritative guide vis-à-vis the formation and effects of treaties.” (2)
Many versed in international law argue that the “object and purpose” language of the Vienna Convention means that “…a nation that has signed a treaty is prohibited either from violating the treaty altogether or from violating the treaty’s core or important provisions.” (1) Although the United Nations have taken great pains to make certain that no specific Treaty language has made its way to the American public, a Spanish representatives made clear his own “object and purpose” when he said the UN “… will be happy to honestly contribute to reduce their number (weapons), [and] to regulate buying and sell of arms…” If this is what the completed Treaty hopes to achieve—and we can bet it will be—Barack Obama will have signed onto the most anti-gun rights document in the nation’s history. (3)

After he has signed the Treaty, Obama could use the “object and purpose” language of the Vienna Convention as an excuse to strictly adhere to all provisions contained in the Arms Treaty itself! That could include any and all United Nations mandates for the registration of guns, the licensing of owners, the regulation of sales, transport or usage—anything! Needless to say, such a scheme would remain Obama’s little secret until he has won the November election.

There can be no doubt that a re-elected Barack Hussein Obama would attempt to impose by means of executive fiat the unconstitutional terms of the unratified Arms Trade Treaty on the American public. After all, why not, as a cowardly congress has already permitted him every manner of abuse of power.

    This could get interesting.

Obama is asking for all out civil war and this is exactly what he wants,so he can declare Martial Law and suspend elections and remain in office!!!

This piece of DooDoo has got to go–he is nothing but someone’s puppet doing the bidding of the elitist who think they know what is better for you and the power has corrupted them absolutely!

The thing that gets me is, Obama is too stupid to realize he is being used–what an epitet that will eventually end up on his grave marker! He will eventually be a disgrace to the black people of this country if not of the world!

The 2nd amendment cannot be nullified anyway–it is a BASIC RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE!

Its been long established by our Supreme Court that the Constitution is “Supreme” to any treaty. In other words, a treaty that effects the Constitution or our Bill of Rights is dead on arrival. We need a Constitutional lawyer to chime in here. Nevertheless, to say that the Federal Government can inter into a treaty that infringes on any of our rights under the Constitution is ludicrous. If you desire to make a statement send your elected representatives a certified letter that goes something like this:

Dear elected representative. You are reminded of your duty and oath to defend the Constitution against enemies foreign and domestic. You will be considered to be a traitor to the Republic if you take any legislative action that has the effect of infringing on my Constitutional Rights and Liberties. Finally, failure to due your duty and honor your oath will result in charges of treason being levied against you and your family members.

HOW, AND WHY IS OBAMA / HBI – HALF BREED IMPOSTER ALLOWED TO SIGN ANY LEGAL DOCUMENTS?

THE MAN IS FRAUDULENTLY REPRESENTING HIMSELF AS WELL AS FALSIFIYING HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE. CONGRESS IS LOOKING AT HIM AS A REAL JOKE NOW……. I WOULD RATHER HAD PEE WEE HERMAN AS A PRESIDENT.

AMERICA IS PRETTY MUCH HOPING THAT CONGRESS IS GOING TO DRAG HIM OUT OF HIS WHITE HOUSE CHAIR AND THROW HIM DIRECTLY IN THE STREET, RIGHT ALONG WITH HILLARY AND HOLDER. LIKE THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN.

    Written By : Dick Morris

Without much fanfare and as little publicity as possible, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will go to New York City to sign the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), now in the final stages of negotiation at the U.N. The Treaty marks the beginning of an international crusade to impose gun controls on the United States and repeal our Second Amendment rights.

The ATT is nominally to stop international arms sales to gangs, criminals, and violent groups. But, as is so often the case with U.N. treaties, this is merely a convenient facade behind which to conceal the ATT’s true intent: to force gun control on the United States.

Secretary Clinton will doubtlessly succeed in inserting language into the treaty belying this intent and asserting that the treaty in no way is to restrict our right to bear arms. But even this language will be meaningless in the face of the overall construct set up by the treaty.

The ATT is to be administered by an International Support Unit (ISU), which will assure that “parties [to the treaty] small take all necessary measures to control brokering activities taking place within its territories…to prevent the diversion of exported arms to the illicit market or to unintended end users.”

The ISU will determine whether nations are in compliance with this requirement and will move to assure that they do, indeed, take “all necessary measures.” This requirement will inexorably lead to gun registration, restrictions on ownership, and, eventually, even outright bans on firearms.

Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton said it best: “After the Treaty is approved and comes into force, you will find out that it has this implication or that implication and that it requires Congress to adopt legislation to restrict the ownership of firearms.”

Bolton explains that “the Administration knows that it cannot obtain this kind of legislation in purely a domestic context. They will use an international agreement to get domestically what they couldn’t get otherwise.”

The Treaty makes no sense otherwise except as a circuitous vehicle to achieve gun control in the U.S. The vast majority of all small arms and light arms exports (the nominal focus of the Treaty) are from sales by the governments of the U.S., Russia, China, Germany and Israel. Individual or corporate arms trafficking is a distinct minority. But it is to absorb the brunt of the Treaty’s regulations.

Insofar as the Treaty restricts governmental action, it bars governments from arming “illicit” groups in other nations. This provision could well be interpreted to ban U.S. arms sales to Iranian or Syrian dissidents. It could even be used by China to stop us from selling arms to Taiwan since the U.N. does not recognize Taiwan as a nation but rather an entity occupying territory that should belong to China.

And let’s not forget how well the United States has done in reducing murders and other crimes despite the absence of comprehensive gun controls and bans. In 1993, there were 24,350 homicides in the U.S. Last year, there were 13,576 (despite a growth of sixty million in the population). Only 9,000 of these murders involved a firearm. (Less than one-third of the highway deaths each year in the U.S.)

Obama has left gun control off his legislative agenda so far. Now his strategy becomes apparent: Use international treaties to achieve it.

And bear in mind that under the Supremacy Clause of our constitution, we would be obliged to enforce the ATT despite the Second Amendment. International treaties have the force of constitutional law in the U.S.

If it is ratified at the lame duck session of the Senate this year, then nothing can ever change it. Goodbye Second Amendment.

Right now, we need 34 courageous Republican Senators to stop up and demand that Hillary not sign the Treaty and indicate their intention to vote against its ratification if it is submitted. Only such an action can stop this treachery in its tracks.
