DML’s Letter to the President about Amnesty

DML’s Letter to the President about Amnesty

    January 27, 2017

    by DML

Dear Mr. Trump: It took a year, but you have crossed the line with one of your most dedicated, loyal supporters. There is no other way of saying it.

Like so many Americans, I have fought for you tooth and nail, day after day. However, if you think the stock market rally and a series of one-time bonuses are enough for me, and others like me, to overlook your calls for amnesty then you are not as smart as we thought.

Why is Trump talking amnesty when he ran on being a no-amnesty president? Allow me to present the head-scratching excuses made by some of your supporters, including some people in conservative media who have lost their way.

“TRUMP IS NOT REALLY SERIOUS ABOUT GRANTING AMNESTY TO 1.8M ILLEGALS, HE’S JUST PLAYING CHESS AND MAKING THE DEMOCRATS LOOK STUPID.”

I do not believe this is true. But if it is, any person who supports such a tactic is not only less than smart, but he or she is highly confused on how important the immigration issue is to the future of America.

First of all, the Democrats look stupid on a daily basis with or without your prodding, and this is why voters filled Congress with Republicans.
Second, to bring America back from the pits of Obama hell, smart Americans don’t want you wasting time with “making deals” that result in nothing more than you blasting a tweet about how stupid Democrats can be.

More concerning, assuming this ridiculous strategy is true, meaning, your amnesty chatter is all smoke and mirrors, then it scares the hell out of me to see how easy it is for you to lie while looking into the camera, especially to your supporters. The last guy who did such a thing was Obama.

If your amnesty talk is all a big head fake, then you are a master of deceit and therefore, I am officially tapping out of my role as being a champion for Trump.

More importantly, your amnesty chatter is driving a new wave of illegals into the country, and in doing so you are putting the lives and jobs of Americans at risk. What sort of person, let alone president, does such a thing.

“TRUMP HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO GIVE AMNESTY, HOW ELSE IS HE GETTING THE WALL BUILT.”

After reading your 4-point immigration plan, I am left to believe that you don’t understand the immigration issue and how it needs to be fixed. Smart people understand that mandatory e-Verify combined with a commitment to enforce existing immigration laws, which includes fining dishonest employers, is the ONLY way to truly end the illegal immigration issue in this country.

Without removing the financial incentives, people will continue to come to this country illegally, and they will continue to remain in this country illegally. In addition, greedy employers will continue to hire these illegal workers at the detriment of hard working, tax paying Americans. In short, you have to cut off the jobs and benefits magnets. Everything else is secondary.

Although I would never agree with any kind of amnesty package, I am baffled as to why yours would not include mandatory e-Verify and stiff fines for employers. Only a hardcore Democrat would give amnesty to 1.8M people without having these two provisions in place. Did you not learn from Reagan’s mistake?

Smart people know that the majority of illegal aliens in the U.S. came here legally. These illegal aliens are often referred to as “visa overstays.” Thus, no WALL will stop visa overstays. So, why is there nothing in your amnesty deal to track visa overstays?

THE DREAMERS AREN’T BAD PEOPLE, JUST BUILD THE WALL

I am nauseous over the term “Dreamer” being used to describe illegal aliens. More than 2,100 DACA recipients have been nailed for crimes, some of them downright vicious. “America first” means giving each American a pathway to the American dream, does it not?

Furthermore, I am tired of hearing how the WALL will be the answer to all things bad.

Having spoken with two border agents this Friday past, it was revealed to me that the flow of people and drugs has increased during the ladder part of your presidency. I asked why this is? I was told that there are not enough border agents, and that the smugglers don’t take your seriously like they did when you took office.

In the same way that the existing iron fences in Arizona and San Diego do little to nothing when it comes to stopping the flow of drugs, a smart person knows the WALL will have minimal impact.

If you build a WALL, the cartels will:

    (a) build more tunnels,
    (b) smuggle via boats,
    (c) blast holes in the WALL,
    (d) use drones to carry drugs over the WALL, and
    (e) bribe dirty border agents to look the other way.

Smart people know that the only way to truly stop the flow of drugs into the U.S. is to:
    (a) cut off the money to the cartels, and
    (b) use military force to eviscerate the cartels once and for all. It’s a one-day war.

Smart people know the drug market is the same as the labor market. It’s all based on supply and demand.

If the supply of drugs dries up, the price on the street will skyrocket. Thus, most people will not be able to afford the drugs, let alone find them for sale. If amnesty is given, it will overload the labor market. Thus, wages will drop, jobs will be harder to find, and more people go on welfare.

Although the WALL would act as a temporary deterrent for day laborers and drug smugglers, it is not the “end all, save all” you make it out to be on Twitter.

Smart people know that the building of the WALL is like using an expensive bandaid to cover a cancer spot on the skin. Sure, it’s better than not having it covered at all, but it doesn’t cure the cancer.

Don’t get me wrong, I am all for a WALL — I am willing to do everything necessary to stop illegal immigration — but I am not willing to give away citizenship to millions of illegals for it. Plus, the Trump WALL will never be completed during the time you are in office, and that’s even if you stay for 8-years.

Even if it is funded, smart people know the building of the WALL will be slowed down to a near halt due to legal actions taken by Democrats, land owners, protestors, and environmentalists.

Thus, looking out a few years, what happens is this: The illegals get their amnesty and We the People get nothing but expensive lawsuits, more drugs, and more illegal aliens living in our communities.

“TRUMP HAS NO CHOICE, HE HAS TO GIVE AWAY AMNESTY IN ORDER TO END CHAIN MIGRATION AND TERMINATE THE VISA LOTTERY.”

This statement is as silly as hearing someone say the world is flat. Smart people know there is no reason why the President of the United States would have to grant amnesty to millions of people in order to improve our immigration system.

Although I fully agree in lowering the overall number of immigrants we take in each year, and although I love the idea of ending chain migration, the visa lottery, and many other asinine aspects of our immigration and refugee programs, I know amnesty is not the path to getting it done.

Here is what I would do if I were president… Instead of screwing around with amnesty, I’d rid of Obamacare. I’m smart enough to know that the way to overhaul the immigration system is not via amnesty, but via votes in Congress.

Allow me to explain in simple to understand terms.

Fix healthcare, and you kill one of the last major policies put in place by Obama. By repealing and replacing Obamacare, businesses and citizens will save so much money that it’s almost impossible to calculate. Thus, as president you get the credit for putting more money in our pockets. By doing so, you will be able to do immigration reform in 10-months. Meaning, kill Obamacare and the Republicans will crush the Democrats in the 2018 midterm elections.

If I am correct, you will get the 60 Republicans you need in the Senate. When that happens the sky is the limit. You can create policies without any crap from the Democrats.

DON’T WORRY! TRUMP’S AMNESTY IS 10 YEARS IN THE MAKING.

Right now, your amnesty plays out over 10 years. Why would you push a plan that runs past the time you have in office? If Democrats take over Congress and a lefty becomes president, together they will stop your chain migration restrictions and reinstate the visa lottery.

By talking about being pro-amnesty, all you are doing is pushing away voters like myself. Romney did a similar act, and 4M conservatives did not vote in 2012, thus, Obama won.

If you sign any bill that grants amnesty, you will be a one-term president and you will go down as the worst president of our lifetime. Keep in mind what that means. Being brutally honest, only a total schmuck couldn’t be better than Obama.

You said last week that amnesty is good for the Republicans. Smart people know how ridiculous that statement is. Despite Reagan’s amnesty, never once has the Republican Party won the Latino vote in a national election.

You know damn well that amnesty leads to Democrat voters. In fact, years ago you tweeted that the GOP was stupid to think that granting amnesty would lead to new votes for Republicans. So why the sudden change, and why have it kick in 10 years from now? Perhaps you’re setting the stage for your daughter the Democrat? I can see the headlines now, “Ivanka Trump (NY-D) to be named the first female president. Wins Latino vote by 75%.” Makes sense to something that makes no sense.

    I’ll end on this.

If the above theories are correct, then you’re not as smart as I thought. If they are nonsense, that means you lied to us during the campaign. Either way, I see you having one of three options at this point.

    1. Stop with the amnesty nonsense, and get back to working on Obamacare. Although many of us will never truly believe your future promises until they come true, we may be able to forgive your flip-flopping rhetoric if Obamacare is dead and amnesty dies with it.

    1. Keep talking amnesty knowing you enter a political war to which you will lose, big time. Having Hannity and Fox & Friends in your back pocket won’t be enough. You will now be battling the mainstream media and the people who feel like they’ve been screwed over.

    1. If you don’t like the sounds of #1 or #2, then I suggest you kill DACA forever, and tell existing DACA recipients they will not be deported for as long as they remain in good standing with the law, but they will never be citizens, and they will never be able to vote. Offer this to them ONLY if the Democrats agree to funding the WALL and the other imperative measures I have outlined above.Personally, I would go with #1 with a small taste of #2 mixed in, but then again, I would have never put myself in this spot.

    God Bless America.

    Signed, Dennis Michael Lynch

Yes. You both recognize there can be no compromise on or trade for amnesty. Illegal aliens can never be given citizenship or be allowed to vote. Enforce our immigration laws.

The 1986 amnesty taught the profound lesson to never repeat the same mistakes. Any amnesty is a "forever amnesty."
