DOJ’s Eric Holder Confirms: Obama Looking at Taking Executive Action to Pass Gun Control

Hours after President Obama’s new Gun Task force met for the first time, Attorney General Eric Holder announced that The Obama Administration may use executive order to implement gun control in the wake of the Connecticut School shooting.

According to Reuters, Attorney General Eric Holder announced that The Obama Administration will consider executive action as part of its new gun policy. Holder, who was once quoted saying we have to “Brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way”, told reporters that they are working on a range of options that will be rolled out over the coming weeks.


Holder is part of a new gun violence task force, created by President Barack Obama and headed by Vice President Joe Biden, that will guide the administration through their efforts to enact gun control legislation.

Thursday’s meeting included Attorney General Eric Holder, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius. After the meeting concluded, Holder told reporters that any gun control measures would include a “strong and robust” Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

In my opinion, this action has been in the works for some time. In fact, back in August we reported how the DOJ was in the process of figuring out how they could use their power to make it more difficult for Americans to purchase guns.

The Obama administration going after guns at this time is one of the worst Executive decisions of all time. He knows he will be picking a fight and I suppose it is a fight he plans to win at the cost of how many American lives and freedoms?

In an interview with ABC’s Barbara Walters, President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama joked about the President’s second term being a ploy to continue having their children protected by having “men with guns around at all times.”

In the highly personal interview, the President and first lady discussed their marriage and family life in the White House. When the conversation moved on to the Obama’s two daughters, the President discussed his dismay at the prospect of 14-year-old Malia becoming interested in dating boys.

The President joked, “One of the main incentives of running was continued Secret Service protection so we can have men with guns around at all times.”

The interview was reportedly taped on Dec.11 and was originally scheduled to air on Dec. 14, the same day of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting, before being postponed.

The President’s men with guns remark has drawn criticisms of hypocrisy from 2^nd Amendment advocates, as Obama has renewed calls for harsher gun-control laws in the wake of the tragedy earlier in the month.

Though many liberals balked at suggestions from the National Rifle Association and some lawmakers about arming teachers or providing armed guards for schools throughout the Nation, no less than 11 armed guards protect Sidwell Friends— the Washington, D.C. area private school attended by the Obama daughters— according to news reports.
