    Voter registration

I'm already registered to vote, but got a voter registration thingie in the mail today. Guess they don't even check this against any of their information either.

I found this odd. Box 6. ID number. When you register you must provide a drivers license or state ID number. If you don't have either of those then just provide the last 4 digits of your SS#. If you don't have a SS#...write NONE in the box and the State of Illinois will issue you a unique identifier.

Identification may be required.....drivers license or SS# or recent utility bill with your name and address, bank statement, government check or paycheck. You are encouraged to send a photostat of one of these documents with your registration form or you may be required to show it before voting if this is your first time.

No lie. The only place on the form mentioning citizenship was where you sign. Now considering I am a citizen and registered to vote, they found me and yet still don't seem to know I am registered......how hard are they going to check this info for an illegal? Loved the term.....unique idenitifier. I want a unique identifier.... ....sounds so much more "special" than my last 4 didits.

crazybird, why don't you call the board of elections in your county and pose a few questions? It wouldn't hurt to call the state board of elections, too. Ask them just HOW they plan to weed out ineligible voters (aka- ILLEGAL ALIENS). I would ask them to explain the process.
Hey, while you're at it- find out just what that "unique identifier" thing is, too. And HOW does one go about obtaining a "unique identifier".
