Did Ted Cruz just throw his hat into the presidential ring?

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) put up an ad this week that has the tone of a campaign video, possibly hinting at his plans for 2016.

In it, highlights of Cruz’s speech at CPAC 2014, “How We Win,” is accompanied by some righteous music.
Cruz’s agenda was expressed as follows:

    • Defend the Constitution
    • Abolish the IRS and adopt a flat tax
    • Expand energy and create high-paying jobs
    • Expand school choice
    • Repeal Dodd–Frank
    • Audit the Federal Reserve
    • Pass a strong balanced-budget act
    • Repeal Obamacare
    • End presidential lawlessness
    • Heal Washington both by establishing congressional term limits and by prohibiting lobbying for people who have served in Congress.

Cruz concludes the video with a tongue-in-cheek “Yes we can” as a response to those who say nothing can be done to stop Obamacare.

If he runs, much will depend on Cruz’s ability to reach the younger, unpredictable and independent-minded Millennial audience.

“Standing on principle” would have to be couched in socially tolerant, self-reliant, pragmatic, liberty-centric and fiscally conservative language. If that’s the case, he can expect positive results among self-identifying libertarian-conservatives.

    Why not?

There are those that will say that he is not a "natural born" citizen but in our new and fundamentally transformed country where any law that doesn't fit our agenda is discarded and ignored the mold has been set.

Since the entire "birther" controversy over Obama, that was instigated by the Hillary Clinton campaign, has shown that only one parent of a candidate needs to be an American citizen to aspire to the Presidency Mr. Cruz fits the bill perfectly. Mr. Obama has set the precedent since his mother was a US citizen.

I like Ted Cruz - let the campaigns roll!

His lips are moving and he is actually believable.

I like Ted also, but note the curious talking point being omitted. Namely what he intends to do about illegal aliens and amnesty ..

These folks certainly don't like him. They keep saying "Ted Cruz shame on your Hispanic" too. I looks like he doesn't play ethnic politics to suit them.

Nothing like coaching the kiddies in ethnic identity politics.
