“Feelin’ Good” Turns Deadly….

Liberals don’t think long-term, just whatever makes them feel morally superior at the moment. This time, the consequences are manifesting in the unexpected way (to the Obama Administration) of making American kids sick; perhaps deathly sick.
You see when we imported all of these “wards of the state” from Third-World countries, liberals everywhere patted themselves on the back for being so “kind and caring” to these poor kids. So now these wards who we are feeding, clothing, housing and educating are infecting publics schools. Super! Why should libs care? Obama’s kids (and those of limousine liberals) go to private school dontchaknow.Nearly 63,000 children have been caught crossing the United States border alone since October — double last year’s number. President Obama has called the surge an “urgent humanitarian situation,” and lawmakers have called for hearings on the crisis.(1)
There are about 100 permanent shelters located mostly near the United States-Mexico border, which are run by the Department of Health and Human Services. But because of the sudden influx of children, three temporary shelters with a total of about 3,000 beds were opened on military bases in California, Oklahoma and Texas.(1)
Now for the UNanticipated consequences of liberal “feelin’ good”…A respiratory illness that has already sickened more than a thousand children in 10 states is likely to become a nationwide problem, doctors say.(2)
The disease hasn’t been officially identified but officials suspect a rare respiratory virus called human enterovirus 68. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the virus is related to the rhinovirus, which causes the common cold.(2)
According to Mark Pallansch, director of the Division of Viral Diseases at the CDC, similar cases to the ones in Colorado have been cropping up across the U.S. At least 10 states — Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Iowa, Colorado, Ohio, Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Georgia — have reported suspected outbreaks of human enterovirus 68 and requested CDC support.(2)
Some hospitals won’t even allow children to enter for fear of the virus spreading to their immunocompromised patients. Who is going to pay for the emotional cost of having but no choice but to send your child to public school wondering if they too will come home sick? The lower and (shrinking) middle-class of course. We collectively voted for fundamental transformation not expecting our children to pay perhaps the ultimate price.
