    Chairman's Message

Welcome to our FBP Border Watch section, here at Friends Of The Border Patrol's website. In this section, you'll find information about our FBP Border Watch taking place in August 2005 along the Southern California Border. We have begun taking volunteers, so sign up now. We have more information below, including our Volunteer form, accessible below, or in our site menu. We need your help and support. Learn how you can help below.

This spirit of volunteerism and community reminds me of the World War I vets who volunteered for WW2 after Pearl Harbor. It makes me proud, as an American, to know that those who have served our nation with honor previously, would step up and do this again today.

"Citizens volunteering to defend our nation is a time honored American tradition!" - Andy Ramirez

"Quite honestly, I support Friends of the Border Patrol. The FBP Border Watch, I support it 100%. I support any of you that want to volunteer," –Rick Roberts, KFMB-San Diego

    Radio Debate

Andy Ramirez, FBP Chairman was the featured guest on San Diego's KFMB Radio Show with Rick Roberts. During this program, Mr. Roberts referred to a San Diego Union-Tribune article published today (featured at our Top News Section). In the article were individuals identifying themselves as opponents of the Minuteman Project, and FBP Border Watch. KFMB's Staff was able to locate Enrique Morones to represent the opposition. KFMB featured a head-to-head debate and we're able to present it here courtesy of the Rick Roberts Show.

    FBP Border Watch

KFMB's Rick Roberts Morning Show, KOGO's Roger Hedgecock Show, KFI's Jay Lawrence (& Clear Channel), and KLSD's Stacy Taylor Show have all reported that citizens can volunteer to be a "Friend of the Border Patrol" and participate in our FBP Border Watch, coming to Southern California August 2005.

Accordingly, Friends of the Border Patrol has officially named our border project, "FBP Border Watch." It is in honor of the Border Patrol Agents, and incorporates several important facets. First, it's honors what our organization is all about, citizens supporting the Border Patrol Agents. Also, it incorporates a basic community program practiced across our nation, that being neighborhood watch. Finally, this gives you, the volunteer/donor, and supporter a chance to tell President Bush and the politicians, "I am a Friend of the Border Patrol, and I am participating in a Border Watch to protect our community, and country, because you won't allow our BP Agents to do their job. Let the Border Patrol do their job." That statement sends a powerful message to the politicians.

*Special thanks to KFI's Jay Lawrence, KFMB's Rick Roberts Show, KOGO's Roger Hedgecock Show, KLSD's Stacy Taylor Show for their support and assistance in getting the FBP Border Project to the public.

    You Can Help Today!

We need volunteers, and donations, which will help support the Border Patrol Agents, and this operation. Anything you can help with, or donate, will be greatly appreciated. We need vehicles to help transport citizens to spots that may be difficult to navigate through; laptops and other high tech equipment, which will be needed to coordinate efforts at the headquarters and basecamp. We will need trained medics, and supplies to ensure the well-being of our volunteers in the August heat. It will also take donations to finance this project and pay for the overhead.

    How To Volunteer/Donate

You can sign up by visiting our Volunteers page, on which you'll find a form that you can mail in via USPS. If we don't respond right away, there are many volunteers contacting us, so we are attempting to organize the information. We will get back to everyone individually, and as soon as possible. Any way you can help support FBP is greatly appreciated, and we thank you for your generous support, and donations.

    Border Update

Andy Ramirez, Chairman has just returned from an important trip to the San Ysidro Border Crossing with Mexico, after taking a tour of the U.S. - Mexico International Border. While there, Andy also participated in the Roberto J. Duran 5K Border Run, which is run in memory of Agent Duran who was killed in 2003 in the line of duty. The course took participants to the fenceline, and just above the Tijuana River. Participants were not concerned about safety as the course was secured by Border Patrol Agents. The Border Run was sponsored by the San Ysidro Chamber of Commerce and the Border Patrol. The pictures have been posted, click on the link below.

    NBPC On The Minuteman Project

Official Statement from the National Border Patrol Council

A story recently published in several South Texas newspapers asserts that the National Border Patrol Council believes that border security in the Rio Grande Valley could be compromised as a result of "civilian patrols of the international border in Arizona." This is a distortion of the NBPC's position. While the NBPC firmly believes that border security in Texas, New Mexico, and California will be compromised as a result of the Administration's decision to fund only 210 new positions instead of the 2,000 called for in the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, as well as the shifting of resources from those states to Arizona, it in no way blames the Minuteman Project or any other civilian groups for this under funding and/or imbalance of resources. The Bush Administration and its bureaucrats are solely responsible for the decision to imbalance the Border Patrol's resources. For the moment, the Administration is also solely to blame for the under funding of the Border Patrol, but if the Congress of the United States fails to override the Administration's funding request, it will share the blame for that matter.

*FBP stands with the NBPC and asks America's citizens to support these patriotic citizens and demand that President Bush secure our borders. We want secure, not open, borders.

Darlene... Aunt B did a post in the Discussion. If we take that post and send it to our Representitives, it will help a good deal. Citizenship is NOT automatically granted for being born here.. and I don't want to hear any one tell me.... Customarily.... et al.

I am going back into the hospital tomorrow. I am not going to have time to do anything with this. If you agree that document has some power... spead the news!

DEAR DARLENE: Thank you for the notice about the border crossing watch in California in August. I would hope that the moderater/administrator of this web site would make a calandar of events, border watches, rallies, etc on this site with points of contact, etc.

I am retired from the US Air Force and also a retired Corrections Officer. I am 59 years old but still have very strong feeling about the subject of immigration, illegal immigration, the Immigrations Service, The US Border Patrol, amnesty, enforement to the Constitution of the United States and it's laws.

We are dealing with a situation which was years in the making. We should have closed the gates long ago- 30 or 40 years ago.
