www.opensecrets.org find out about who gives to whom!
http://www.opensecrets.org/pacs/index.asp
this is for slyvia and pinestrawguys and anyone who want to research who is giving to what-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you want to have a successful boycott, we need to pick FIVE companies.
Each company to boycott should meet the following criteria.
1. They should be members of the US Chamber
2. Their PAC should have given money to try and defeat Arizona's Prop. 200
3. Their PAC should have given to Open Borders members of Congress
4. The public must have another company they can go to and the other companies must not be Open Borders companies
5. Parent companies must be researched to avoid overlap
We have a structure in place for a national boycott that WOULD WORK if properly executed. The problem is that we need some people to do the research necessary for us to pick 5 deserving companies to boycott while allowing the public good choices to go too instead of the target companies.

this would be the next step in the research; To find out which of these corporations gave money to prop 200.
anyone giving money over a certain amount is part of the Public record.
so that is the direction we should go to next---

I'm just guessing, but I bet Home Depot would fit most, if not all of the criteria. They also have a main competitor in Lowes.

Backers, foes take Prop. 200 to TV

The fight over Protect Arizona Now will begin playing out on the airwaves, with critics and supporters of the immigration measure launching their first television ads and rushing to raise money to keep their messages on the air.
Arizonans for Real Immigration Reform, a coalition of firefighters, business, political and labor leaders formed to defeat Proposition 200, has raised $260,000 as of Monday. The goal is to raise $1 million to $2 million. The group, which on Wednesday began airing its first 30-second commercial in the Phoenix and Tucson areas, received $10,000 from the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and $250,000 from a group known Arizona United for Immigration Reform.
The two groups didn't disclose the source of the money in the finance campaign report. State election officials said they are not required to do it by law. advertisement
Farrell Quinlan, the chamber's spokesman, said the $10,000 donation is from the chamber, not its political action committee.
Supporters of Proposition 200, designed to combat voter and welfare fraud, had not filed the most recent finance report with the secretary of state. The final day to file is Oct. 7. But Randy Pullen, the chairman of the Yes on Proposition 200, has said his group raised about $120,000 and a television ad will begin airing Monday in Phoenix.
Most of the money, or about $75,000, came from the Federation for American Immigration Reform, while the rest came from other groups and individuals, Pullen said.
Earlier this month, Pullen's committee aired a 30-second radio spot in Tucson.
The Nov. 2 ballot measure, which requires all Arizonans to prove their citizenship when registering to vote or when seeking public benefits, remains popular.
A new statewide poll of 553 registered voters suggested that 63 percent favored it; 23 percent opposed it. Fourteen percent said they didn't know or had no opinion. The poll, conducted Sept. 23-26, was done by Channel 8 (KAET) and the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.
The television spot against the measure features footage of Republican Sen. John McCain and Democratic Gov. Janet Napolitano as the announcer quotes their opposition to the initiative.
"Our goal is to keep spreading our message until voters understand it," said Steve Roman, a spokesman for the Arizonans for Real Immigration Reform, adding that the coalition believes it can still reach its funding-raising goal.
