While billions are being sent back to Mexico, the so-called poor of the California Central Valley are getting obese while they eat at fastfood restaurants. As I spoke up about this kind of garbage, they banned me from their message board. It's no wonder that we have high crime, gangs, drugs, pregnant teens, social program fraud and abuse, over crowded prisons and school, high school dropouts, kids that can't pass the exit exam, and a host of other social problems. AND THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WITH ILLEGAL ALIENS.

We hear you, Melvin. We've been doing everything we know to do to stop this crap. Hopefully, some results and actions will be seen this year!!

I can surely agree that we need to totally cut all monetary welfare benefits, it's not working. If American employers paid a decent livable wage, and all Americans had the opportunity to have a good job (MEANING ILLEGALS WERE NOT HERE TAKING THOSE JOBS FOR LESS, AND PENDING THE FACT THAT SOME DO NOT WANT TO WORK) then there would be little to no need for even the foodstamp program.

Too many Americans have no motivation to get their chunky butts out there and work hard.

Top of the list after illegal immigration is cutting welfare. NONE, ZERO!!!

Make employers responsible for the employees they refuse to pay a livable wage to!! Not the government, and ultimately the taxpayers.

The way things used to be; young Americans took the low paying jobs, they worked their way through school, and then they worked their way up. People stuck with their employer because they knew they had a future with that company, people were satisfied with their jobs, there was job security, they knew their employer appreciated them and was not going to replace them with someone they could pay cheaper.

Yes, it hall has turned crappy. I hope it will get better, I am tired of seeing my family, my relatives and my friends struggling just to pay electric bills and eat, and then having no jobs at all.

First cut welfare, give nothing to anyone who is truly not a citizen and is not starving then the illegals will have nothing to hang onto, then start deporting them. This way Americans will not only have more jobs to choose from, employers will be desperate enough to pay a good wage to entice prospective employees to their companies. We will have little need for welfare when there are jobs to be had and the illegals have been sent back home.

I hate to say this but that is one of the least intelligent articles I have ever read.

I know that a good deal of the food in the Western US is GROWN in California. Go ride up I-5 and count the trucks loaded with produce headed for distribution centers.

If those central CA people can afford fast food joints, they can afford to buy food at the farmers markets. Or, they could get it the old fashioned way by going to work picking crops and taking a little home for dinner!

And you can't tell me that those people who are taking home boxes of food from the food bank are on the up and up. They are either keeping the food for themsleves or giving it to some illegal who wouldn't be eligible to go collect it themselves. They should be ashamed of themselves for taking anything from a place they supposedly volunteer to help other people.

I imagine next week they will be suing the fast food joints because they are obese.

Gee, I wish I felt sorry for some of these dang fools! Moreover, I wish I had a modicum of respect for the news agencies that print this silliness!

I have had so many posts on www.al.com deleted and I don't know if I have been banned again yet. THeir forum is a joke. They won't let you talk about anything but food and football. The said thing is, most of the people on those forums are perfectly fine talking about this stuffand nothing of substance. Sheeple!!!!!!!

In our attempt to fight Terrorism and to assist the Middle East, we need their port so as to ship our weaponry to their area........Besides, the world unity or the Globalization for “One World Government” the World Monetary Organization(?) needs. is for us to be dependent on each other in order to work.... Some think that a country will not attack if they are heavily invested there or here. ....America is being programmed to change and our people are being led in the change, probably through the NAFTA, CAFTA, GATT & .... Treaties. We are headed toward world socialization without national sovereignty . As far as “tranquility” is concerned, we won’t have to worry about making our own decisions. The State will continue as they are heading. Some of us will better understand when our driver’s license needs to be renewed.

1. Just renewed my driver's license and had nary a problem.2. At least realize it is the UAE. The fictional entity you created due to your intoxication is of no threat to us.

I've gone to AL.com a couple times. Found the forum but they tell me I'm already a member so I can't sign up. I'm trying to figure out who I am because I darn sure don't know.......
