The latest collapse of the GOP in the Congress is total and comprehensive. That’s redundant but illustrates the point clearly.
The GOP went from demanding that ObamaCare be defunded and holding the line on the Debt Ceiling to getting nothing substantial on ACA and raising the debt ceiling again. Republicans made a series of needed demands on spending cuts, delays on the Individual Mandate and eliminating special exemptions for Congress. The GOP submitted 21 important items they demanded in exchange for funding the government and hiking the debt.
All they got was ….. NOTHING.
Conservatives in Congress (both of them) spent weeks trying to stop the cancer of ObamaCare and make meaningful spending cuts. But the rest of the Party collapsed as predicted and got NOTHING.
What Conservatives did get for all their troubles, however, were deep knife wounds in their backs. Amazingly those were inflicted by other Republicans. Shame on you Rep. Peter King! Shame on you Sen. John McCain! Shame on you GOP “moderates” for cowardice and duplicity under fire.
The GOP collapse was so complete that Mitch McConnell even had the impudence to insert a special $3B Earmark for his state inside the deal. A $3,000,000,000 Earmark during a budget crisis? Really? In effect, McConnell said “Take that - all you crazy fiscal conservatives in the Tea Party! How do you like me now?”
This Greek tragedy must be embarrassing for most regular Republicans and mortifying for all Conservatives. But the sad fact is we in the Conservative Party have been warning you for years this would happen when the chips are down. We told you so…just sayin’.
And what makes you think the Republican Party will develop any courage by January when the Budget and Debt Ceiling issues are revisited? What makes you think that GOP conga line of weak-kneed, poll watching surrender monkeys will stay the course then?
Do you think these Republican poll dancers will somehow reverse their decline in the Polls by caving to Obama and the media?
It’s time for true Conservatives to leave the GOP and join the Conservative Party. Bring Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and Sarah Palin with you. There is no future for conservatives in the Republican Party. They don’t deserve you.
CP-USA does not blink, will not capitulate and will not cower. It’s time.
