    Ukraine: The Endgame

March 7, 2014 by Jon Rappoport

    UPI

On one level, the struggle over Ukraine is a deadly U.S./EU/Russian game of territory, involving governments, intelligence agencies, corporations and banks.
But at a higher level, as usual, sit the elite globalist players. And their motives are different. They see every conflict as an opportunity to negotiate the aftermath.
And that negotiation produces a codified structure of cooperation between the enemies that is larger than the previous structure.
For example, there were banks and corporations (Standard Oil, ITT, IBM, etc.) who were aiding both sides in World War II. And in the aftermath, a much larger market for goods (Europe, U.S.) was created.
The U.S. government, in its European rebuilding efforts, made sure of that.
Post-World War II, Europe itself started on the road toward creating the current European Union, which is a vast bureaucracy that sits over the entire continent.
This is the globalist principle: Instigate conflicts in order to build larger cooperative structures in the aftermath. And control those cooperative structures.
That way, you put more people, land, resources and labor under the umbrella.
There is only one exception. If either of the conflicting parties, in the aftermath, refuses to build those cooperative bridges, the globalist scheme doesn’t work.
So, vis-à-vis the Ukraine conflict, if Russia or the Unites States, in the aftermath, says no to building new cooperative structures (either out in the open or behind closed doors), that “defector” is now a globalist target for further chaos and destabilization — until it relents and joins the club.
Above the saber rattling, angry accusations and characterizations of “a new Cold War,” Ukraine is a pawn in the globalist game of bringing Russian and U.S. power players into closer accord — kicking and screaming, if necessary.
In accord, but not in a good way. In a globalist way.
Because the globalist agenda is a planet of one nation, where all borders are ultimately erased; and the ruling class of money, corporate power and political torque is enthroned.
This program is neither left nor right. It hides behind exacerbated conflict between left and right.
It engenders a reality in which left versus right appears to be the only political game in town.
But it isn’t the only game.
You could call the globalist agenda socialism, communism, fascism, corporatism, liberal, conservative and other names. And each one of those names would contain a kernel of truth. But in fact, globalism is simply control from above. Period.
Yes, there must be certain issues on which the left and right disagree. There must be differences. And these issues must be hot — hot enough to rally supporters who scream at each other across the barricades.
Because that is the kind of distraction globalism needs to do its methodical work in secret.
If Ukraine follows the blueprint, at the end of the conflict, the U.S. and Russia will be seething at each other. And then, a mediating figure will appear, perhaps from the Rockefeller camp.
And in a private meeting, he will say, “Boys, cool down. We have a plan. And in this plan, everybody wins. You’ll all go home with something. Look. Look at this. And this. And this.”
    The peacemaker.

Judge Nap: 'Obama Admin Fomented the Protests in Ukraine'

    BY FOX NEWS INSIDER //MAR 06 2014 // 8:44AM
AS SEEN ON FOX AND FRIENDS

    Video at the Page Link:

Is the United States to blame for what has taken place in Ukraine? Judge Andrew Napolitano weighed in on Fox and Friends this morning and in a column on FoxNews.com, making the case that the Obama administration is at least partially to blame for the situation that has unfolded.

Ron Paul: Billion-Dollar US Aid Package to Ukraine Is Wasteful

He pointed back to the leaked audio recordingof top U.S. diplomat Victoria Nuland, saying that the U.S. was working behind the scenes to support the protests and oust the government of Russia-friendly President Viktor Yanukovych.
Napolitano highlighted a statement by Secretary of State John Kerry, who proclaimed Wednesday that the Ukrainian people are entitled to their own government.
"Guess what. They had their own government until there were riots and demonstrations in the streets. Who paid for and who fomented the riots and demonstrations in the streets? Well, if you listen to the tapped and taped phone call of Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, we did," said Napolitano, adding that U.S. involvement stemmed from Yanukovych accepting loans from Russia instead of the EU.
"You're gonna say we paid those protesters?" Brian Kilmeade asked.
Napolitano answered "absolutely," saying the situation in Crimea is a "consequence" of the U.S. "meddling in another country."
As for the Russian forces in the streets of Crimea, Napolitano said they are not there lawfully and pointed out that the troops are not wearing Russian military uniforms.
"By not wearing the insignias, by not identifying themselves as part of the Russian army, they are literally outlaws. They are not protected by the Geneva Conventions. You could literally and lawfully shoot them in the streets," he explained.

Obama’s Strategy Of Fomenting Revolution In Ukraine Is Backfiring Dramatically

By Michael Snyder, on March 3rd, 2014

When the Obama administration was plotting to overthrow the democratically-elected government of Ukraine, what in the world did they expect to happen in the aftermath? Did they just expect Russia to roll over and play dead as the U.S. and the EU installed a rabidly anti-Russian government in Kiev? Over the past few years, the U.S. government has chosen to foment violent political revolutions all over the globe. We have seen violent revolutions overthrow governments all across the Middle East and Africa, but when the U.S. government decided to do the same thing in Ukraine they went way too far. When you mess with Ukraine, and when you mess with Crimea in particular, you are crossing a huge red line as far as the Russians are concerned. By crossing that red line, the Obama administration has ensured that the relationship between the United States and Russia will never be friendly again.
If you have not listened to the conversation between Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Ambassador to the Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt that was leaked a little over a month ago on YouTube, please click on the video posted below. As Robert Wenzel recently discussed, this video is solid proof that Obama administration officials were plotting who the new leaders of Ukraine would be several weeks before a violent revolution ousted President Viktor Yanukovych from power…
During the clip, Nuland and Pyatt discuss their desired outcome for the crisis in Ukraine. Now that 3 weeks have passed since the leak and events have developed, it is instructive to listen to the recording once again. (See below.) Keep in mind that this leak was made on February 2, which means the conversation occurred before that date. Viktor Yanukovych did not lose power over the Ukrainian government until more than three weeks later February 24th.
The recording reveals Nuland and Pyatt discussing whether Vitali Klitschko, sometimes referred to as “Klitsch” in the recording, should be named the deputy prime minister and seems to assume that Arseniy Yatseniuk, sometimes referred to in the recording as “Yats,” will become prime minister. Since that conversation, Yatseniuk has, indeed, become prime minister. Anybody that tells you that the US is not running the “revolution” from behind the scenes is blowing smoke.

    Here is the video

Thanks to the meddling of the United States and the EU, the situation in Ukraine is now a giant mess. Russian troops have moved into Crimea to protect Russian interests, and Ukraine stands on the brink of civil war.
Sadly, when Barack Obama’s national security team met on Saturday to discuss the crisis in Ukraine, Obama didn’t even show up.
Obama did speak with Vladimir Putin for 90 minutes on Saturday, but that didn’t solve anything of course.
And with each passing day, Obama’s foreign policy is looking like an even bigger joke.
Even U.S. Senators are mocking him. Just check out what U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham had to say on the matter…
“Every time the president goes on national television and threatens Putin or anyone like Putin, everybody’s eyes roll, including mine.”
Conservative commentator Mark Levin was even harsher when he stated that he “can’t think of anything he [Obama] touches that doesn’t turn to crap!”
But of course Obama has been completely and totally clueless when it comes to Russia for a very long time.
During one of the presidential debates during the last election, Obama made the following statement to Mitt Romney when Romney suggested that Russia is a serious threat…
“The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because…the cold war’s been over for 20 years.”
Who looks like the fool now?
And Obama especially looks foolish since his “democratic revolution” is starting to backfire dramatically. Just consider the following facts…
-It is estimated that approximately 675,000 Ukrainians have fled into Russia during January and February. Why would they be going into Russia for protection if Russia is the “bad guy”?
-The head of Ukraine’s navy has defected and is now working with the Russians.
-The flagship of the Ukrainian Navy has switched sides…
Ukraine’s Navy flagship, the Hetman Sahaidachny frigate, has reportedly refused to follow orders from Kiev, and come over to Russia’s side and is returning home after taking part in NATO operation in the Gulf of Aden flying the Russian naval flag.
There has been conflicting information on where exactly the vessel is, but a Russian senator has confirmed to Izvestia daily that the frigate defected to the Russian side.
-A large number of high ranking Ukrainian military officials have switched sides
A number of high ranking Ukrainian military and security officials in Crimea have sworn their allegiance to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, as Simferopol pushes for its autonomy from the self-imposed government in Kiev.
The head of the Security Service of Crimea Petyor Zima, Chief of Department of Internal Affairs in the Crimea Sergey Abisov, the head of Service for Emergency Situations Sergei Shakhov and acting Chief of the Border Guards of Crimea Victor Melnichenko all took an oath of allegiance to the people of Crimea.
-It is being reported that many of the Ukrainian troops stationed in Crimea have turned on the government in Kiev…
Crimea-stationed Ukrainian troops have switched sides to join forces with local pro-Russia authorities in the Russian-dominated autonomous republic of Crimea, a source in the region’s administration has said.
The source has stressed the transition was peaceful and without a single shot being fired.
Some of the servicemen reportedly left their posts without prior warning, while others surrendered letters of resignation but the majority went over to the Crimean government.
-The pro-Russian revolution that is sweeping Crimea is starting to spread to other regions as well…
In the economically important eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk, hundreds of pro-Russian protesters massed Saturday in the main square and took over a main government administration building, and raised the Russian flag, according to local residents and news outlets. It was unclear whether the protesters were local residents. The number of protesters was also unclear; Russian and Ukrainian media had wildly different estimates of crowd strength.
The Donetsk city council issued a statement demanding a referendum over whether the mining region with strong ties to Russia should remain part of Ukraine.
By nightfall, the area around the Donetsk main square was quiet. A reporter from Ukrainian national television said that the protesters remained inside the building, drinking tea and planning new pro-Russia protests for Monday.
And this is probably what Russia is planning to do.
Instead of taking Ukraine militarily, they hope to enable a “new revolution” to swing things back their way. The following is an excerpt from an NBC News article
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Sunday that Ukraine’s leaders had seized power illegally, and predicted their rule would end with “a new revolution [and] new bloodshed.”
Medvedev said that, while Viktor Yanukovych had practically no authority, he remained the legitimate head of state according the constitution, adding: “If he is guilty before Ukraine – hold an impeachment procedure … and try him.”
“Everything else is lawlessness. The seizure of power,” Medvedev said on his Facebook page. “And that means such order will be extremely unstable. It will end in a new revolution. New bloodshed.”
Of course large numbers of Russian troops will be on hand to make sure that this “counter-revolution” succeeds. Even as you read this, more Russian forces continue to pour into Crimea
Meanwhile, in Crimea, Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Vladislav Seleznyov told CNN on Monday that up to 12 trucks full of Russian troops have crossed into the eastern Crimean city of Kerch from Russia.
Additionally, Ukrainian Border Service Assistant Chief Colonel Sergei Astakhov described Russian troop movements by ferry from Russia across the Strait of Kerch in a phone conversation. Astakhov said the first two ferries carrying armed men were navigating towards the ferry dock and border post in Kerch. As the ferries approached the port, 10 heavily armed troops from the Russian Black Sea Fleet attacked the border post from land and used force to overwhelm the Ukrainian border guards, Astakhov said.
The upper house of Parliament in Moscow has given President Vladimir Putin the authority to use “the armed forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine until the normalization of the socio-political situation in that country“, and even U.S. officials are admitting that the Russian military has “complete operational control of the Crimean Peninsula” at this point.
And this may just be the beginning. Reportedly, during his 90 minute conversation with Obama on Saturday Putin hinted that Russian military intervention “could go beyond Crimea”
During his 90-minute phone conversation with President Obama on Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin hinted that Russian military intervention in Ukraine could go beyond Crimea, the region now under effectively occupied by Russia.
That’s according to the Kremlin’s brief account of the phone call, initiated by Obama.
“Vladimir Putin stressed that in case of any further spread of violence to Eastern Ukraine and Crimea, Russia retains the right to protect its interests and the Russian-speaking population of those areas,” it said.
So what is going to happen next?

    Nobody knows for sure.

But without a doubt, Obama’s strategy of fomenting revolution in Ukraine is backfiring dramatically.

Ron Paul’s Texas Straight Talk: Can We Afford Ukraine?

March 10, 2014 by Ron Paul

Officially, U.S. debt stands at more than $17 trillion. In reality, it is many times more. The cost of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq may be more than $6 trillion. President Barack Obama’s illegal invasion of Libya cost at least a billion dollars and left that country devastated. The costs of U.S. regime change efforts in Syria are likely thus far enormous, both in dollars and lives. That’s still a secret.
So who in his right mind would think it is a good time to start a war with Russia over Ukraine? And worse, who would commit the United States to bail out a Ukraine that will need at least $35 billion to survive the year?
Who? The President and Congress, backed by the neocons and the so-called humanitarian interventionists!
The House voted overwhelmingly last week to provide $1 billion in loan guarantees to Ukraine. That is just the beginning, you can be sure. But let’s be clear: This is not money for the population of that impoverished country. The Administration is sending $1 billion from U.S. taxpayers to wealthy international bankers who hold Ukrainian debt. It is an international bank bailout, not aid to Ukrainians. And despite the escalating anti-Russia rhetoric, ironically some of that money will likely go to Russia for Ukraine’s $2 billion unpaid gas bill!
So what happened in Ukraine? The U.S. government and media claim that the U.S. must save Ukrainian democracy from an invading Russian army that is threatening the country’s sovereignty. But in reality the crisis was instigated in part by U.S. meddling. Remember the intercepted telephone call in which two senior Obama Administration officials discussed plans to replace the elected government in Ukraine with U.S. puppets? That is exactly what happened. Is that not a violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty? Is that what democracy is all about?
The Obama Administration’s policy toward Ukraine is hypocritical. The overthrow of the government in Kiev by violent street protests was called a triumph of democracy; but when the elected parliament in autonomous Crimea voted last week to hold a referendum to decide its future, Obama condemned it as a violation of international law. What about the principle of self-determination, which is also enshrined in international law?
I have long thought that a referendum to reorganize Ukraine into a looser confederation of regions might help reduce tensions. I still believe this could help, but it seems the U.S. government is not so enthusiastic about democracy when there is a chance for an outcome it opposes.
I strongly believe that Crimeans have every right to transfer sovereignty over their peninsula to Russia if they wish. The only question that remains is whether there will there be an honest election, and I don’t see any reason there can’t be.
The U.S. government tells the rest of the world, “We want you to be good democrats and have elections.” But if they don’t elect the right people, then we complain about it and throw them out, like we did in Egypt. In Crimea they want to have an election to determine their future. Obama condemned those plans for a vote by saying, “We are well beyond the days when borders can be redrawn over the heads of democratic leaders.” Does he not remember that the authorities in Kiev were installed just weeks ago after a U.S.-backed coup against the Ukrainian constitution?
Congress will likely vote for sanctions against Russia. Though many mistakenly believe that sanctions are a relatively harmless way of forcing foreign countries to do what we say, we should be clear: sanctions are an act of war.
Cooler heads in the United States are not currently prevailing. There is a danger of an unimaginable conflict between the U.S. and Russia. We must demand a shift away from a war footing, away from incendiary rhetoric. We are broke and cannot afford to “buy” Ukraine. We certainly cannot afford another war, especially with Russia!
