At Iranian White House New Year Celebration, Michelle Obama Denounces ‘Disturbing and Hateful Rhetoric’

Wednesday at the White House Nowruz celebration for the Iranian New Year, first lady Michelle Obama said diversity is important “right now” at a time of “disturbing and hateful rhetoric.”

Obama said, “This is the people’s house. Yes. So enjoy. As Barack says, ‘just don’t break anything.’ That’s why when Barack and I first got here, we committed to opening this place up to as many people from as many different backgrounds as possible. Especially folks who have never been through these doors before. And that is particularity true for so many of the young people we bring into this house who would have never thought they would walk into the White House and have a place to call their own. We think America is strongest when we recognize our many traditions, when we celebrate our diversity and we lift each other up. And in times like these when we think of all that’s — that’s most important than ever before right now today with what’s going on. Right now when we are hearing so much disturbing and hateful rhetoric, it is so important to remember that our diversity has been and will always be our greatest source of strength and pride here in the United States. We are a nation of immigrants and we should cherish the talent and energy and the beautiful traditions and cultures that come with that heritage.”

Diversity? What is that? What do they really mean by that? America is a diverse country, it's always been a diverse country, a big territory with all types of people doing all types of things with as many opinions on this or that as there are people living in a very diverse environment from mountains to wetlands to beaches to swamps to plains to yeah ... deserts. We even have islands and peninsulas. The only thing we don't have is an artic although Alaska is close, and I'm told at one we had a type of rain forest somewhere in the Georgia area at one time but we cut it down.

Opening up the White House to as many different backgrounds is a beautiful thing. Recognizing traditions is also a beautiful thing. Celebrating diversity is a beautiful thing. Following American laws is a beautiful thing too. I suppose if you can afford to put your teenage daughters in $18,000 dresses for a party, you might not think like a lot of other Americans who can't afford to do that. Ask your husband why he doesn't follow US Immigration laws (he is not the only President to ignore these laws). Ask all the families, friends and concerned Americans of those who have been needlessly killed by illegal immigrants why they might feel animus towards illegal aliens and the government that ignores the laws that let's them stay here illegally.

The disturbing and hateful rhetoric is exaggerated as we all know and whatever true level exists, is a direct result of a multitude of sins like allowing millions of illegal aliens into this country, ignoring visa overstay laws, forcing border patrol to stand down, failing to recognize radical Islam, poor military strategy, bad trade deals that have gutted the middle class and a President who has been weak on so many important issues to Americans, particularly to those that did not even vote for him.

The resentment of immigration has always been about the jobs stolen and businesses threatened. Always. Whatever "hateful rhetoric" ensued because of that is as justified as a union member calling someone who crosses a picket line a "scab". Our culture is rich in name-calling, always has been and I hope always will be to some extent, because if you don't have a name for it in our language, everyone will pretend the problem doesn't exist.

Like Trump says, before you can solve a problem, you have to identify it, then start a meaningful conversation that leads to a call to action and a solution.

Michelle Obama: Rhetoric From GOP On Immigration Revolts The First Lady

    April 7, 2016
    Heather Tooley

Michelle Obama is blasting rhetoric that she perceives as “disturbing and hateful” amid the presidential race.

ABC News reports that the first lady’s comments leveled against the Republican presidential campaign expresses her displeasure at proposed policies coming from the Right.

“We think America is strongest when we recognize our many traditions, when we celebrate our diversity, and when we lift each other up,” First Lady Obama said today at a White House celebration of the Persian holiday, Nowruz. “In times like these, when we’re hearing so much disturbing and hateful rhetoric, it is so important to remember that our diversity has been and will always be our greatest source of strength and pride here in the United States.”

Although Michelle Obama’s remarks did not specify the presidential race, the speech she gave for the holiday celebration that marks the arrival of Spring and the start of the Persian new year, was interpreted as such.

CNN revealed that Michelle Obama’s distaste for the rhetoric was highlighted by the fact that she and her husband have made it a priority in the White House to be as inclusive as possible.

The news report notes in its coverage that the first lady might not have openly addressed the Republican primary contest in her slam against disturbing rhetoric, but she did not pull “another example of harmful political rhetoric, either.”

Michelle Obama’s view on the rhetoric she sees playing out in politics was not as scathing as that of her husband’s in his speech on Tuesday in which he called some of the proposals on immigration “wacky” and “draconian.”

President Obama took issue with the rhetoric that Republican front-runner Donald Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz are using in their campaigns. He said that what the Republican presidential candidates are spewing is causing harm to the United States.

“I am getting questions constantly from foreign leaders about some of the wackier suggestions that are being made,” Obama shared.

President Obama emphatically told the American public that the rest of the world watches the U.S. and many are unsettled by the political agendas they see from potential nominees for President of the United States.

President Obama pointed out the irrational idea of Trump withholding money transfers from illegal immigrants to their families so Mexico can pay for the wall.

“This is just one more example of something that is not thought through and is primarily put forward for political consumption,” Obama said. “We’ve got big issues around the world. People expect the president of the United States … to treat these problems seriously, to put forward policies that have been examined, analyzed, effective, where unintended consequences have been taken into account.”

Trump’s inability to adopt the use of a filter in his comments, speeches, and messages on social media may have done enough damage in his campaign that it’s hard to salvage.

A slew of reporters claim that President Obama’s biting comments about Donald Trump’s proposals in his speech essentially helps the GOP presidential front-runner because it gives the opposition more momentum. In other words, Trump’s unvarnished notions are so unabashed that it manages to grab the president’s attention. Those who strongly dislike how President Obama has ran the county over the last eight years will gladly back whomever he’s at odds with.

The president and Michelle Obama have voiced their concern for the rhetoric coming from the GOP presidential candidates. It will likely do little in preventing more from emerging from Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.

You know...it seems easy to be a liberal Democrat. They just love everyone evidently. In their world we should welcome everyone and anyone but come on...it's mostly about getting votes and keeping their party in power. As Donald often says 'Give me a break.'

What's going on is so troubling as we all know. Globalists are creating the perfect formula to destroy our country:

People In (Immigration) + Jobs Out (Free Trade Treason) = Bankrupt Nation

It's that simple. Trump is the only one in the race who a) see it b) knows it's wrong and c) wants to fix out.

The NEVER TRUMP, STOP TRUMP, ANYONE BUT TRUMP Movement to end his nomination is not about him or his "rhetoric", it's what they know he sees and wants to fix, because they don't want it fixed.

We're in some type of Twilight Zone.
