Why Hillary will NOT take on CIR in the short term.
As you all clearly saw, Immigration was not in the top three issues in the Democratic primary. #1 was the Economy, #2 was Health Care, and #3 was the Irak War. Hillary will have to tackle those issues in that order. Those issues will take alot of political capital and time.
This gives us time. We need to convert left leaning Americans about how their livelyhood is being attacked by the cheap labor that comes with illegal immigration. States should be pressured to adopt measures similar to the ones adopted by Arizona and Oklahoma. Our message regarding immigration should go along side a message of the economy. Americans should be confronted with the truth now that they will feel the efects of the eminent recesion. The war is not over, not by a long shot.

If it is Hillary and McCain , this will not even come up , be debated or even be an issue in the general election
It will be off the table
This is what some of us Romney people have been saying all along

That's because the Dems don't WANT immigration to be an issue, and neither does MSM. There plenty of Democratic citizens opposed to scamnesty, so you're right, we should enlighten them!

Hope you're right LE.
Rahm Emanuel, the Dem strategist, said this past summer that the Dems would not tackle immigration reform until after the first term of a Dem president. Obviously, they know how contentious and politically sensitive this would be.
But the OBL is very anxious, that's why they're funding a $100 million propaganda campaign. And Hillary and Obama are tripping over themselves pandering. So I *think* they'll take another stab at CIR in 2009 if they're elected.
In the meantime, we should work in the states and on supporting Congressional Dems and GOP members who are anti-amnesty.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
