WASHINGTON — Uncle Sam is putting out an urgent call for a platoon of baby sitters who can help deal with the crushing influx of children illegally crossing the border.
With thousands of unaccompanied children making the dangerous trek into the United States from Central America through Mexico, the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection is looking to bring in temporary workers to help process them.
The bureau is seeking workers with training in emergency medicine and non-emergency health care, “child care or juvenile teaching and/or counseling,” according to a June agency memo.
The memo, obtained by TheBlaze website, seeks Border Patrol agents willing to fill temporary 30-day duty on the Tucson, Ariz., border in order to staff a processing center 24 hours a day “for the foreseeable future.”
It notes that the “primary demographic” of those being housed at a processing center in Nogales, Ariz., are “females and UACs” — unaccompanied children. “Therefore, agents that are best equipped to interact with the above demographic are being *requested,” the memo says.
Thousands of immigrants from Central America have been crossing into Texas illegally at an escalating rate. The number of children pouring in from the region is expected to hit 50,000 this year.
“It’s a humanitarian disaster,” Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) told The Post.
Cornyn said the Border Patrol is inundated.
“They’re playing catchup, but there’s no end in sight,” he said. “The trajectory of the number of people who are being attracted by this impression that we won’t enforce our laws is escalating all the time.”
Cornyn said the number of immigrants from the region could exceed 100,000 by next year and called on President Obama to urge immigrants not to come here.
“Don’t come — don’t even start on this long, dangerous, treacherous path on the beast through Mexico into the United States,” Cornyn advised.
GOP lawmakers argue that Obama’s decision to stop deporting children who were brought here illegally is acting as a huge magnet for new child immigrants.
Republicans are clamoring for more border enforcement and urging that a comprehensive *immigration deal be put on hold until the border is secure.
The Senate Appropriations Committee has voted to nearly double, to $2 billion, the amount the administration can spend to provide care for the immigrant children.

How about those illegal alien kids that Obama and Cantor are so concerned about

Posted by Michael Becker on Jun 14, 2014 in Illegal Immigration, Immigration, Politics

As you must know, there’s been a huge surge in illegal immigration, this time it’s kids as young as five who are coming being sent across the border with Mexico alone. It’s a “humanitarian crisis” and there’s talk about disease outbreaks, supervision of thousands of minor children, and the whole discussion about what to do with them. That discussion likely cost Eric Cantor his congressional seat.
“But I have told the President there are some things that we can work on together,” Cantor said. “We can work on the border security bill together. We can work on things like the Kids.”
Cantor was referring to what has commonly been referred to as his “Kids Act,” which, as Breitbart News reported, would grant amnesty to illegal immigrants who were brought to America through “no fault of their own”–like many of the illegal immigrant children who have been pouring into the country in recent weeks.
The first question should be where did they come from and how did this happen? How did the US government get blindsided? Actually, the government didn’t get blindsided
Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) stated that the Obama administration knew about influxes of illegal immigrant children at the southern border back in 2012, but chose not to act in an interview that took place on today’s “Sean Hannity Show.”
Perry said “we wrote the president on May 4, 2012 saying ‘Mr. President, we have a huge problem on our southern border with these children who are coming into the country, they are being basically released’ and this administration has ignored it.”
Two years ago the Governor of Texas told the administration that the flood of kids – looking back, it was a trickle – were coming across the border and there were serious public health concerns. What did the Obama administration do?
    Nothing.
We’re of the opinion that they did nothing because it didn’t serve their purposes. A few kids aren’t a “humanitarian crisis,” and it takes a humanitarian crisis to take executive action. Which is exactly what we’re expecting the President to do.
This smacks of the Bergdahl trade. The administration was negotiating for his release and knew months in advance of the trade that they were going to do something. They just claimed “crisis” and the President acted unilaterally, and in direct contravention of a law that he signed.
    Here we go again.

Nice: Obama Uses Illegal Children For Propaganda, Turns Soldiers Into Babysitters

    Joanne Moudy | Jun 15, 2014

Just when things seem like they can’t get any worse, Obama stoops to a new all time low. With the resounding defeat of Eric Cantor, liberal ‘Dreamers’ must look for new and creative ways to hoist their illegal, open-border policies upon law-abiding American citizens. Reminiscent of Hamas and Al Qaeda using children as human shields or bombs, it seems likely that Obama is using children as the new pressure point for cramming amnesty down our collective American throats.
Within the past week thousands of children from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala have suddenly appeared on U.S. soil, reportedly traversing several enormous countries in the hope of secretly slipping into America. Perhaps I’m just cynical but none of this smells right. As a matter of fact, it all stinks.
Just exactly how do unaccompanied children manage to traverse two thousand miles of difficult terrain while avoiding dangerous drug cartels – all on their own – to reach the southern border of America? Since they are apparently arriving without benefit of adult supervision, money, vehicles, or material possessions, one can only speculate that perhaps they had some seriously coordinated support.
Meanwhile, the Obama administration does a double wink and feigns surprise at the onslaught of urchins. And America – get your checkbooks ready – because Obama can’t work fast enough to secure $2 billion in emergency funding from our bankrupt treasury.
Goodness knows, the timing for this couldn’t be better because the Arab Spring is over, Russia is our best friend, and the world is secure (especially Iraq). Since Obama is gutting the military anyway, it seems a logical move to turn our ‘unnecessary’ military installations over to the Department of Health and Human Services. I mean, we’ve got to put these illegal kids somewhere – right? And while Obama and HHS are re-tasking our bases, it’s only fitting to re-task our – now irrelevant – American soldiers so they can act as chief cooks and bottle washers.
Sorry, but I don’t buy any of this.
I especially don’t buy that the massive influx of kids was random or uncoordinated. Since Obama never allows anything to stand in the way of his progressive agenda, it seems likely that these underage trespassers are nothing less than a sick new tool to access the sympathetic nerves of American voters who don’t want amnesty. I mean really, how can we turn our backs on pitiful, dirty, hungry children?
Easy. The same way we legally incarcerate any juvenile delinquent who breaks into private property and steals from the residents. Because that’s exactly what these kids are. They’re juvenile delinquents who’ve broken into the U.S. and who have no legal right to be here. Every one of them should be incarcerated (along with their parents) in a secure facility and immediately flown back to where they came from.
I apologize in advance if my take on this serious mess sounds cold and heartless. But personally, I’d much rather pay for the cost of a one-way ticket than to be stuck with a permanent bill for their housing, food, clothing, healthcare, education, abortions, sex-change operations, electronics, cell phones, automobiles, legal defense funds, federal prison time, etc.
And when our overworked Border Patrol was unprepared for the onslaught of thousands of kids – why, pray tell, is America suddenly the bad guy? While it’s unfortunate we didn’t have five-star accommodations ready for their unannounced illegal arrivals, it’s not America’s shortfall.
Nope, it’s just Obama reiterating for the thousandth time that America is a failure and the root of all the world’s problems.
Personally, I’m sick to death of the illegal alien situation and believe in no uncertain terms that we need to seal the borders immediately. Furthermore, I wouldn’t support or vote for a single candidate who believes otherwise because this terrible situation right now is just the tip of the iceberg and it’s only going to get worse.
Obama is perpetrating another huge travesty on America. While he falls all over himself to help illegal would-be voters flooding here, he won’t lift a finger to help our innocent U.S. citizens stuck in foreign prisons. From the two babies languishing with their abused mother in a federal prison in Sudan, to the U.S. Marine stuck in a Mexican jail, he refuses to even acknowledge their existence.
On another side, I imagine the newly minted $2 billion Obama is miraculously diverting to these illegals would’ve gone a long way to continue funding the A-10 so that our troops on the ground would have the ‘luxury’ of continued close air support. Quite probably those five brave troops who died in Afghanistan last week would still be alive if Obama’s hand picked USAF top brass hadn’t refused to provide critical funding.
I also imagine the money would make a small dent in the backlog of veterans awaiting medical care through the underfunded VA. Quite possibly many of the veterans who were denied medical care and subsequently died might still be alive if we only had our priorities straight.
Ah well, perhaps Obama will think more clearly after his golf game this weekend.
